Hype Or Holy
The John Paul Miller or JP Miller story has exposed a serious issue that the modern Church has not dealt with properly.
I was driving and praying today and I heard
“Were they after Hype Or Holy?”
I watched that NetFlix documentary on this pastor and the issue leaped out in my face.
There was NOTHING Holy about this man, Not even from the time he was a young teenager in the youth group. Every immoral act that he was accused of was swept under the rug, and he was protected by his threatening, Perverted, Unholy, Pastor daddy, who was wrapped in accusations and convictions of his own. JP Miller walked in the demons of his dad and that was not the only trait was passed down from his dad. The WORST Demon that was passed down was an “Unholy Hype”. It’s an Unholy Charisma that causes people to become addicted to the Hype to the point that the UNHOLY is overlooked.
Look at the past few years.
Hillsong alone had 9 of their 16 Churches hit by moral failures. 5 of the biggest named pastors in the nation fell and ONLY AFTER the social media detectives began to expose their failures. Some even continued for many years with the same failure being plastered on all forms of media.
And that’s ONLY ONE group. HOW, HOW, HOW?
HYPE, HYPE, HYPE!! People still supported these ministries and it continues today. Why? A large portion of The Church has fallen pray to the satanic lure of Hype Over Holy!! As long as the hype is still there the UNHOLY Is overlooked or even not seen at all through the Hype Addition.
Watch what happens when the hype leaves the church. Mass exodus happens. As a pastor of many years and many churches I have witnessed this over and over. One of the worst I ever saw was the Todd Bentley - Lakeland Revival craze in the early 2,000s. I had several church members asked me about taking a buss load down. I had watched him on TBN because they were showing a livestream of the “Revival” daily. It was a Massive Hype filled YET Unholy gathering that lasted 6 months in 2008 and exactly like the JP Miller and Hillsong And all others, the unholy it was only dealt with, or even noticed when it spilled over into the media.
Even our youth today are driven by the flash of social media and online games. If the flash is not there they will switch and choose the game or page for flash, over a page or game that is layered in Holiness.

“The Holly NEVER Needs Hype.”
“The Holy Never Shows Up In Hype.”
“The Holy Takes A Backseat To Hype.”
Be Careful What Pulls You To A Church And Be Careful What Keeps You In A Church.
If The Holy Is Not A Factor Then The Result Will Be Disaster!!
