As we begin a new week and move closer to the High Holidays, this is a beautiful time to slow down and think about what we want to carry forward…and what we may be ready to leave behind.

Elul gives us that opportunity. A little more reflection. A little more forgiveness. A little more intention.

At sunset, the day shifts. Yom HaZikaron (Israel’s Memorial Day) ends, and Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israel’s Independence Day) begins. The focus moves from remembering those who lost their lives in service to the country to recognizing and celebrating the establishment of the State of Israel. We remember, we honor, we celebrate.
