FINAL SERVICE AT FIRST LUTHERAN

Sunday, December 18th, 2022 at 9AM

We will begin at First Lutheran with the service of the Word. District President Beinke will lead the rite of the Disposition of a Church Building. Following this, we will immediately travel to St. Paul for the rite of the Merging of Congregations and the Service of the Sacrament.

A Luncheon reception will follow in St. Paul's Fellowship Hall.

Please RSVP on the sign-up sheet at the back of the church or contact the office if you plan to attend the luncheon.

We’re bursting with excitement for our 2022 VBS theme, The Tree of Life: God’s Promise of Salvation. Learn how Jesus helps us grow in surprising ways. He leads us to the treasure of eternal life, and He’ll never leave us!

VBS is free to attend - A free-will offering is taken during the week - All children are welcome regardless of religious or non-religious background!

Music - Arts & Crafts - Storytelling - Singing - Recreation - Scrumptious Snacks!

Vacation Bible School is for children 4 years-old through the 6th grade (entering 6th Grade in September - older children can volunteer as Junior Helpers).

This year, St. Paul will be transformed into The Tree of Life where kids have fun as they make new friends, sing songs, and learn how Jesus works through them in their everyday lives. Packed with thrills and spills, our Vacation Bible School offers fun, realistic Bible-based themes that are built with a message that lasts, engaging and enriching kids for a lifetime. After the craft glue dries and the snacks are just crumbs, the treasure remains that children leave knowing their need for a Savior—and His name is Jesus. No fairy tales needed at this VBS. Now that’s a VBS with purpose!

On June 26th the merged congregations voted to move forward with the Foundry Commercial recommendation to use First Lutheran as an asset to support our future worship at St. Paul's. This meeting is for our (FLC) members to decide how to do that.

If anyone needs transportation to attend, please call the church office, 203-869-0032.

VERY IMPORTANT CONGREGATIONAL MEETING - MAY 22ND
Following the joint service at First Lutheran we will have a presentation by Foundry Commercial. We engaged Foundry to provide an unbiased assessment of both properties as we move forward with the merger.

Foundry has studied the real-world options for both properties and will present their findings at this meeting. This is an informational meeting only. No vote or decision will be made at this time BUT it is important that everyone attend in order to hear their findings so we are all informed as we move forward with the merger.
