The best gifts can become the easiest idols. A raise, a relationship, a skill you're really good at, these aren't the problem.

You are when you stop needing God because you've got "enough." Monday through Sunday, the question isn't "do I have what I need?" It's "do I still need Him?"

You can't trust someone you don't know. Start with the Psalms to see God's raw character, then look at Jesus in the gospels, He's the clearest picture of who the Father really is.

That's how trust actually grows.

Jesus didn't sympathize with your pain from a distance. He wept. He grieved. He got angry. He experienced the full weight of what you're feeling so he could meet you exactly where you are.

You're not alone in this.

There's a version of peace the world can't give you, and a God who promises it anyway.

This weekend we talked about finding that peace, by naming what you actually feel, not what you think you should feel. By creating space away from the noise. By remembering that Jesus felt everything you feel, so he could meet you exactly where you are.
