From the desk of Pastor Martin
Verse 1 – The Sealed Scroll
John sees in the right hand of Him who sits on the throne a book (scroll) written inside and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. This tells us the message is complete and final—nothing can be added to it. The scroll represents God’s sovereign plan for judgment, redemption, and the future of the world. Being in God’s right hand shows divine authority. The seven seals speak of perfect security; no one can open what God has sealed unless He permits it.
Verse 2 – The Search for the Worthy One
A strong angel cries with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?” This is not about strength or knowledge, but worthiness—moral authority and righteousness. Heaven pauses. The question echoes through all creation, showing the seriousness of the moment. God’s plan cannot move forward until a worthy Redeemer is found.
Verse 3 – Human and Creation’s Inability
John observes that no one in heaven, on earth, or under the earth is able to open the scroll or even look at it. This shows the total inability of humanity and creation to solve sin, bring judgment, or complete redemption on their own. Angels, saints, rulers, and the dead are all excluded. Salvation and history cannot be unlocked by human effort.🙏🏽🙌🏽🙏🏻
