We are holding a donation drive in conjunction with our stake conference on September 26th and 27th. Please bring school supplies, small toys, and children's clothing to our meetings. Donation boxes will be in the stake center foyer on the 26th, and in the lobby of the Greenville convention center on the 27th. Your generous donations will be combined with donations from other churches in the area and given to the children of migrant workers. These items will be divided into small bags according to the age and gender of the child. These bags will be carried home by their families who have been working in our area during the season.

Thank you for your generosity!

This September, the Greenville North Carolina Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is inviting members, families, and friends across our area to participate in the National Day of Service and Remembrance by supporting the American Red Cross and helping meet an urgent need for blood.

A Critical Need for Blood

The American Red Cross has declared only the second national blood supply crisis in its history. Blood donations have fallen to a four-year summer low while hospital demand has increased. The situation is particularly serious for type O blood, with the Red Cross reporting less than a one-day national supply of type O positive blood and limiting distributions of type O blood to hospitals.

The Red Cross is asking eligible donors to act now. Every donation can help provide lifesaving blood to patients facing trauma, surgery, cancer treatment, childbirth, and other medical emergencies.

Our Local Service Opportunities

The Greenville North Carolina Stake will support the effort by hosting a blood drive in Rocky Mount:

Rocky Mount Blood Drive
📍 3224 Woodlawn Avenue
Rocky Mount, NC
📅 Thursday, September 10, 2026 *PLEASE NOTE the date is the 10th*
🕑 2:00–6:00 PM

We will also support a Red Cross blood drive in Greenville:

Greenville Blood Donation Center
📍 700 Cromwell Drive
Greenville, NC 27858
📅 Friday, September 11, 2026
🕡 6:30 AM–2:30 PM

We encourage everyone to participate in these drives or find another Red Cross blood drive in their community. Appointments can be made through the blood app, redcrossblood.org, or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

In 2026, September 11 marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11, making this year's opportunity to serve especially meaningful.

Let Us Serve Together

We invite you to make this September a time of meaningful service. Donate blood if you are eligible. Volunteer to help with a blood drive. Invite a friend, neighbor, coworker, or family member to participate. If you cannot donate blood, consider finding another way to serve someone in your community.

A blood donation may take only a small amount of your time, but it can make an enormous difference to someone whose life depends on a transfusion.

Let's honor the spirit of 9/11 by coming together in service, compassion, and love for our neighbors.

Please make an appointment, volunteer, and encourage others to participate.

“By small and simple things are great things brought to pass.” — Alma 37:6

Blood donors report feeling a sense of great satisfaction after making their blood donation. Why? Because helping others in need just feels good. Donate blood today to help those in need.

“Jesus Christ is the Only Begotten and Beloved Son of God. He is our Creator. He is the Light of the World. He is our Savior from sin and death. This is the most important knowledge on earth, and you can know this for yourself, as I know it for myself. The Holy Ghost, who testifies of the Father and the Son and leads us into truth, has revealed these truths to me, and He will reveal them to you.”

—President Dallin H. Oaks, “Teachings of Jesus,” October 2011 general conference

Today, we celebrate President Oaks on his 94th birthday and express gratitude for his lifelong witness of Jesus Christ.

A beautiful message. If you’re reading this, it is meant just for you.

“Jesus Christ knows you, He understands you, and He loves you. Jesus has done everything to help you.

“Stay close to Him. Learn all you can about Him. As you try to keep the most important commandments to love God and love others, He will help you grow into the magnificent person you are meant to be! He will help you be happier, learn faster, feel comfort, make friends, and have more opportunities.

“Wake up each day with purpose and confidence, knowing that Jesus will walk with you. Follow His example and say in prayer to Heavenly Father, ‘Here am I, send me.’

“Then listen for thoughts and ideas. What will He send you to do? Through His Spirit, He may send you to comfort someone who is lonely, help your family, learn important lessons at school, or teach someone to pray. He can help you stand for truth so you can bring His light to others.”
