Calvary Chapel Greenville

Calvary Chapel Greenville Family Bible Teaching and Worship for Greenville, Tx and surrounding communities. We are a Bible believing/teaching fellowship of friends. Why verse by verse?

The Bible says in Acts 17:10-11 that the people in Berea were more noble than those in Thessalonica because the studied the scriptures daily. We seek wisdom that comes from the scriptures, Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord”. The long r

ange plan is to teach through the Bible verse by verse. Isaiah 28:9 :Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little.” In the context of the verse we see that GOD teaches us all not just the “super holy”. It would seem that the most sensible way to mature as a Christian would be to go verse by verse.

Welcome to Calvary Chapel Greenville — Sunday Morning
The Faith of Peter and Cornelius
Cornelius was a Gentile who feared God and followed many of the ways of the Jewish faith. God spoke to Cornelius and instructed him to send for Peter.
At the same time, Peter received a vision from God of animals that were considered unclean according to Jewish law. God told Peter not to call unclean what He had made clean.
The animals in Peter’s vision represented the Gentiles. God was showing Peter that the Gospel was not only for the Jews—it was also for the Gentiles.
Peter was being prepared to step outside of his traditions and share the Word of God with Cornelius and his household.
The practical application for us is that God’s Word and salvation are for everyone. We may have our own ideas about who is ready to hear the Gospel, but God sees the heart. Like Peter, we need to be willing to listen to God’s leading and take His Word to anyone He places in our path.
Thank you for joining us this Sunday morning. May God bless you as we study His Word together!

Good morning, and thank you for joining us at Calvary Chapel Greenville.
Today we continue in Acts 8:26–40, where we see Philip ready and willing to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. Philip was prepared to give an answer for the hope that was in him, but he was also ready to listen and respond when the Lord directed him.
Are we prepared with God’s Word and ready to listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit? When God gives us an opportunity to share our faith or minister to someone, are we willing to step out in obedience?
Let’s open our hearts to God’s Word and see what He wants to teach us today.

Good morning, and thank you for joining us at Calvary Chapel Greenville—in person or tuning in online.
Today we'll continue our study through the book of Acts in Acts 8:9–25. In this passage, we see Philip faithfully doing the work the Lord called him to do, while Simon is captivated by the power of God. It raises an important question: Was Simon truly seeking to follow the Lord, or did he simply fail to understand what genuine faith and surrender look like?
A practical application from this passage is that we cannot see the hearts of the people we serve alongside. Only God knows the true condition of a person's heart. Our calling is to serve Him faithfully and wholeheartedly, without becoming distracted or discouraged by the motives or actions of others.
May the Lord speak to each of us through His Word today, strengthen our faith, and encourage us to continue serving Him with humble and willing hearts. God bless you, and thank you for worshiping with us.

Good morning, and welcome to Calvary Chapel Greenville!
We're so glad you've joined us today. Whether you're watching our service online live or catching up later, we're thankful you've chosen to spend this time with us.
Today we'll continue our study through the book of Acts, looking at Acts 8:1–8. In these verses, we see that even in the midst of persecution and hardship, God continues to accomplish His purposes. As the church is scattered, the gospel spreads, reminding us that nothing can stop the work of the Holy Spirit.
We pray that as we worship together and study God's Word, you'll be encouraged, strengthened, and drawn into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
Thank you for joining us. May the Lord bless you as we open His Word together.
