First Baptist Church, Greenville, SC

First Baptist Church, Greenville, SC All are welcome! All are valued! Join us for worship on Sunday mornings at 10:30 in the Sanctuary.

Mission Statement
We are a community of believers in God as revealed in Jesus Christ as Lord. We believe in the authority of the Bible, the equality of all members, unity in diversity, and the priesthood of all believers. In communion with and through the power of the Holy Spirit, we follow the Way of Jesus the Christ and share the Good News through worship, education, ministries, and missions. As

an autonomous Baptist church, we value our heritage and the freedom it allows us to minister alongside other groups, both Christian and non-Christian. We express our love for all in gratitude for the love God has shown to us.

Giving thanks for the women who pastor and lead among us, FBG Senior Minister Carol McEntyre, Minister of Youth and College Mary Carol Anderson, Minister of Children Bridget Kokolis, Minister of Music Laura Ritter, Minister of Spiritual Formation and Outreach Camille Loomis Rehnborg and Director of Church Operations Jenna Manning.

To all the little girls in SBC churches who sense God's call to ministry: there is a place for you! May you find encouragement, opportunity, and faithful communities that help you answer that call.

For First Baptist Greenville, this commitment runs deep.
In 1999, our church left the Southern Baptist Convention, in part because of our commitment to affirming women in ministry and leadership. Today, we continue to celebrate the gifts and calling of women who serve God's church.

As many of you have seen, BWIM has placed a billboard in Orlando ahead of the 2026 SBC Annual Meeting along the Beachline Expressway as a public witness of affirmation for women called to ministry.

As Southern Baptists once again debate women’s roles in the church, BWIM is speaking directly to the women carrying the weight of that debate: your calling, gifts, and worth are determined by God and not by any denomination.

What a celebration!
We unveiled our newly equipped AYMC (Activity and Youth Ministry Center), and the room was full of exactly the kind of energy that reminds us why this community is so special.
This space was built to care for the whole person, body and spirit, right here on campus. And with intentionally affordable membership rates, we want it to be accessible to everyone who calls this community home.
Come move. Come connect. Come belong. https://firstbaptistgreenville.com/aymc/

As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, our Senior Minister Carol McEntyre, in partnership with Baptist News Global, has curated a series of articles written by pastors to help people reflect on the relationship between Christianity and democratic life.

At a time when many Christians feel exhausted, cynical, or unsure how faith speaks into public life anymore, this series will offer thoughtful, theologically grounded perspectives. https://baptistnews.com/article/what-is-democracy/

This summer, children, youth, and adults from our church family will serve in neighborhoods, partner agencies, camps, and communities near and far; including advocacy projects, local mission opportunities, and an international youth trip to Costa Rica.

Before they go, we want to send them out together.

Join us Sunday, June 7 at 10:30 a.m. for a special Mission Commissioning during worship as we pray over and bless everyone participating in mission service this summer.

Wondering how to live faithfully as a Christian in our complicated historical moment? This summer’s Combined Sunday School Series is for you. This summer’s Sunday School series, organized by the Spiritual Formation Committee and taught by church member experts in American history, will explore Christianity in American history in fresh ways. How have the lives and choices of our faith ancestors influenced our modern world? How does our faith compel us to be better citizens? Why does studying history matter for people of faith? We’ll tackle some familiar and unfamiliar stories of Christian Americans, exploring together the challenge and encouragement we inherited from past generations and the call to pursue a civic future faithful to God’s vision.
You are invited to participate in this 9-week series beginning Sunday, May 31. All sessions will be held from 9:30am to 10:15am in the FBG Fellowship Hall. Come early for coffee and to catch up with friends new and old!
