FOUND on the Guadalupe River
It’s not every day you encounter an organization so selfless and devoted to restoring meaning and beauty to what was lost. The work they do—recovering items swept away by floodwaters, carefully cleaning them, and reuniting them with their owners—is nothing short of incredible.
In my time in disaster relief, I’ve responded to storms from Florida to Ohio, and from North Carolina to Texas. Yet I have never witnessed anything quite like what this remarkable group of volunteers is doing. Seeing the items they’ve recovered—especially the Bibles—was deeply moving. It brought tears to my eyes. So often, we’re surrounded by debris, things so damaged you can’t even recognize what they once were.
But this community sees value where others might not. They take the time to care, to restore, and to return every single item they can. That kind of compassion is rare, and it’s powerful.
I truly hope to see more people like them wherever the Lord leads us next. What you’ve started is something truly special. You guys are amazing!
