When we find ourselves desperate, who or what do we trust?

In Mark 5, we meet a fearful father and a weary woman. Two people desperate for Jesus, but they approach Him in very different ways.

Jairus comes boldly. He falls at Jesus’ feet and pleads for his daughter.

The woman comes quietly. She reaches for Jesus from behind, believing that even touching His garment would be enough.

One came openly. One came timidly.
One fell at His feet. One reached from behind.

But Jesus drew near to both.

Maybe you feel bold enough to fall at His feet today. Or maybe you feel too weary, afraid, or timid to do anything more than reach out.

Either way, He sees you. He turns toward you. He gives you His attention. He draws near to you.

Whatever your desperation looks like today, you can trust the One who draws near. 🤍

There are two directions our hearts can follow, and what we set our minds on matters.

The flesh turns us inward.. toward ourselves, our desires, and our own little kingdoms.

The Spirit turns our hearts toward God.

And where the Spirit leads, there is life and peace.

Today, don’t just ask what you’re doing. Ask what is shaping the way you think, live, and respond.

Friend of GraceLife:

We've been rounding out the summer with conversations about TWO ROADS. TWO CHOICES. TWO MOTIVATIONS.

This Sunday's message is a real doozy: Who's driving your life-the FLESH or the SPIRIT?

Join us at 10 AM as we dive into how to hand over the keys to the Holy Spirit.

Plus, it's not too late to join Bible 101! Get a practical, clear understanding of how the Bible fits together-no confusing theology required.

Where does your faith begin?

It’s easy for our relationship with God to become centered around what we are doing, how well we’re obeying, how much we’re serving, whether we’re doing enough.

But faith changes when the starting point shifts from “What can I do for God?” to “What has God already done for me?”

God is enough.
His character is trustworthy.
His promises are true.
And His grace gives us freedom to follow Him. Not out of fear or performance, but out of faith.

Maybe the question isn’t simply, “Am I pleasing God?”
Maybe it’s, “Am I trusting Him?”
