We've been made aware of a new scam involving criminals who pretend to be a pastor of a local church. Citizens are reporting that they received a text from who they believed to be the pastor of their church who asks them to purchase gift cards for a church outreach event. Please be vigilant about any request for money, gift cards, or online payments. When in doubt, call your church directly, or contact our dispatch to speak to a deputy!
