May 31, 2026 is TRINITY SUNDAY in the 75th Anniversary of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Greenville, Michigan. In this window of the church, the triangle represents the Trinity: Father, Son and Spirit – equal. The circle denotes no beginning and no end - eternity. It also symbolizes perfection, completeness, continuity and the eternal life of the Christian. Together, the triangle and the circle depict the eternity of the Trinity. “Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost!”

Sunday, May 24, 2026, is Pentecost and Mount Calvary Lutheran Church of Greenville, Michigan, celebrates 75 years of blessings since its congregation’s FIRST worship service on Pentecost Sunday in 1951. This window in the church depicts the Holy Spirit descending, both at the baptism of Jesus and to the disciples at Pentecost. Just as the same Holy Spirit of the first Pentecost blessed this local group of eager disciples, it has continued to do so for the next 75 years and counting, as we are “Joyfully Following Jesus by Living, Loving and Serving”! Thanks be to God!

75 years ago: May 13, 1951 – Pentecost - The first worship service of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church was held in the rented Episcopal Church in Greenville. Note the children’s choir in the front with children from the Mount Calvary Sunday School which had already been meeting for quite some time in the upper chambers of the Greenville City Hall. Rev. Paul Gutnecht, pastor of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Belding and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lakeview assumed pastoring of Mount Calvary until a pastor could be called to serve them. (Mount Calvary is celebrating its 75-year anniversary during 2026 with a variety of special activities as they are “Joyfully Following Jesus – by Living, Loving and Serving!”

Mount Calvary Lutheran Church of Greenville, Michigan is 75 years old this year! ON THIS DAY, April 29, 1951, a group of people met in the rented Episcopal Church to decide whether a new Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod should be established in Greenville. God guided them to say “Yes” and a new congregation was born, worshiping for a time in that church, then in other locations around Greenville until property was purchased and the present church building was begun. Praise God for the vision of these early Christians and for the people who have been blessed by God’s love at Mount Calvary! May we continue to be "Joyfully Following Jesus by Living, Loving and Serving"!
