Thanks everyone for all of your support and prayers for our water partnerships in Cuba! Three of our partners (more than we were expecting!) were able to get solar power because of your generosity which will empower them to serve their neighbors purified water even during the frequent blackouts they are experiencing. This solar installation happened yesterday at San Bernabé Episcopal Church in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba. The four solar panels and batteries powers the water system, some lights, fans, and the kitchen refrigerator--a beacon of light and hope! Yohans, one of the church leaders said, "You all have given us so much--you are part of the history of our church. God knows all the love you put into what you do for all of us, and you will always have God's blessing." Amen! The second photo is of some of the leaders at San Bernabé along with the installation team, a group from another Episcopal Church in Cuba who have solar installation expertise.

Dear friends, we wanted to share this good news with you all! Our water partners in Cuba are celebrating with us today--it's World Water Day and they are giving thanks that we are beside them as water partners. They are sending photos, videos, prayers, and words of thanksgiving. Here is a video from the Placetas Adventist Church. Jorge Luis, one of the operators (and the father of Sacchi whose story you've heard many times over the years) is sharing a powerful testimony marking our anniversary as partners in water. This is a summary of some of what he shares in this video: Thanks be to God, a water partnership was formed between the Placetas Adventist Church and the First Presbyterian Church Greenville, Mississippi, a beautiful collaboration between brothers and sisters. At first, I was one of those who initially did not believe such a project was necessary in their community but I saw the proof with my own eyes and became a believer in the need for a water purification system: a few drops of water from a standpipe in the church yard were placed on an agar plate and in a couple of days, there were worms on the plate--that was the water we were drinking! That sample was taken on February 7th and the following Monday, the clean water project launched! Thanks be to God, we have since distributed 929,850 gallons of clean water in our community. Doctors send patients to our church to get water! We are now celebrating the sixth anniversary of this wonderful initiative, and we, as a church, wish to express our deepest gratitude to everyone involved in this project. We thank God for this.

Wow! Thanks to you all and your support this year, we hit our goal to support all of our partners with replacement parts for their water systems and we will be able to assist not just one but TWO of our partners with solar power so they can continue to serve even when the electricity goes out! We and our partners are so very grateful for your continuing generosity. Thank you, friends!

Greenville community, you all really showed up for our clean water fundraiser last night —thank you for all the support! And hats off to all of our volunteers who made Mardi Gras Madness 2026 a success. We all leaned in together and with God’s help, the blessing that is clean water continues to flow through our water partners in Cuba to God’s children. Friends, we have had such an outpouring of support from the community. We wanted to let you know we’ve paused online dinner ticket sales and have set aside some tickets to sell at the door (you can still use the online link to donate to our Be a Part, Buy a Part program www.firstpresgreenville.com). We’ll be feeding 500 people this evening for our clean water fundraiser! Dine in if you can and enjoy Jazz Persuasion and the lovely Mardi Gras atmosphere—like going to New Orleans without the five hour drive. The kids parade will be at 6:15 so come join in the fun, all for a great cause of supporting our water partners.
