We asked Marty Johnson to share something that has impacted him as the Founder/Executive Director of Downtown Ministries.

"For all of us involved in the refurbishing of the building at 172 Main Street, Greenville, there is a total agreement that a very real God orchestrated the process. We watched men and women with the needed skillsets and servants mindsets get involved, we saw the needed equipment and materials miraculously fall into our laps, and the needed funds were always there, even though there were times we didn't know where they came from.

This is what strikes me the most. It has been cemented in my being and has strengthened my faith to the point that I can unequivocally , unashamedly proclaim that God is real.

We have a whole bunch of stories that solidify this proclamation. If you haven't heard them, you should ask. We love to share them.

In June of 1994, Downtown Ministries was incorporated. The ministry's initial focus was centered upon high school and college aged students. DTM built and operated three "Jam Houses" in Greenville, Grove City, and Stoneboro.

These Jam Houses were safe havens where relational ministry thrived and Christ was shared. In November of 2006, DTM purchased a building in downtown Greenville and began renovations. In April of 2010, Fresh Grounds Coffeehouse opened. Fresh Grounds continues the relational ministry of the Jam Houses and serves the Greenville area community with the focus shifting to include all generations.

DTM has grown since 1994. Different ministries have come under our umbrella yet the focus remains the same, to provide avenues in which Christ's people can together reflect His love.

📌 2026 Mobile Pantry Dates & Locations

Our Mobile Pantry program provides supplemental food support to neighbors who may be experiencing food insecurity. This program helps ensure access to nutritious food when it is needed most.

🆕 IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR 2026: Please review the schedule carefully, as one location is NEW for 2026.

The Mobile Pantry is available to individuals and families in need until quantities are exhausted.

📍 Dates and locations are listed in the graphic below. All current locations remain in effect through February.

Over 150 dresses and suites are ready for our friends who participate in the Night to Shine event. We are excited to be a small part of the wonderful job Bethel Life Worship Center does for this event. See you Wednesday!

What is Downtown Ministries?

Downtown Ministries is a nonprofit organization started in 1994, located in Greenville, PA. Supported by churches and individuals of many denominations as well as organizations and businesses, "Downtown Ministries serves as an avenue for the Body of Christ to share the the love of Christ with our community".
