Homeless Court meets at Triune on the first Monday of the month at 2pm. Individuals facing nonviolent charges may apply. It is a free, voluntary diversion program designed to help people experiencing homelessness exit the criminal justice system with little-to-no impact on their record. Participants are paired with an attorney who will help with the legal matters, while local service providers assist with navigating resources appropriate to their needs. Homeless Court is open to the public, and all are welcome to check it out in person.

Triune Mercy Center is closed today in observance of Memorial Day. As we pause to honor the sacrifices of the men and women serving our country in the military and as first responders, let us not forget our friends and neighbors who have lost their lives simply struggling to survive without a home. So far this year, we have almost reached the number of lives lost in all of 2025 (46 people), and we aren’t even halfway through 2026. Please join us in praying for the friends and family of those lost.

Triune will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. There will be no breakfast served that day. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are giving our staff and the breakfast crew a much deserved day off. We will be open Saturday and Sunday during our usual operating hours, with a hot lunch served both days. We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend.

According to Pulitzer Prize-winning sociologist Matthew Desmond, federal housing assistance reaches only one in four qualified households, leaving the majority severely cost-burdened. Wages for low income workers have stagnated, while housing costs have skyrocketed, creating an income and rent disparity. Even after acquiring employment, accessing benefits like Social Security or disability, and getting connected to healthcare, individuals and families experiencing homelessness have few options when it comes to affordable housing, forcing them to remain on the streets, in their cars, or in motels. This is a system-wide problem that our community needs to come together to address. Greenville prospers when all of us prosper.

Our partnerships with serving churches are vital to the mission here at Triune. Groups from these congregations provide hot lunches every Saturday and Sunday, as well as to-go bag lunches each Sunday. We still have open slots remaining for 2026, especially for bag lunches, so if your group is interested in signing up to provide one of these meals, please visit our new volunteer opportunities section on our website. Once you’re there, click the “Serving Churches” tab to view the meals calendar. There, you can sign up for open slots. We appreciate all of our partner congregations and groups who help provide this vital service to our neighbors. Thank you all.

Each Sunday, we pass out bag lunches as people leave Triune. These lunches are provided by partner churches, youth groups, community groups, or other various groups willing to help. We ask that each group provide the contents, assemble the bags, and drop them off at Triune on either Sat. or Sun. morning. If your group needs a space to assemble these bags, you are welcome to do that here. We have created a new Volunteer Opportunities section of our website where you can go to learn more about bag lunches, and to sign up. and click the “serving churches” tab to see the meals calendar. There are currently 14 slots that need to be filled in 2026, including the next two Sundays! Please prayerfully consider helping us out by signing up for one of those slots, or any of the remaining slots this year.
