From Monaghan UMC member Maxine Bennett. Maxine has been to Kenya on mission trips and encourages everyone to help.

Hi Friends,
Thanks be to God! He is good to us and plans to continue to do so.
Here is a real Saturday brunch, munchy treats and meat!
Our soccer team got to attend a tournament (which was a big deal to them,) and while they did not win, one of their players, Hopkins, was awarded Most Valuable Player status.

This photo is of him getting his certificate. His reward was being color commentator! Thanks to a dear friend for the spiffy blue uniforms.

About the second photo:
These lovely ladies have come into a collective to support themselves by small businesses. From Pastor Antony:
The one on the right is Sylvia, a single mother of one and does manual work which is very inconsistent and really struggling to make ends meet.
The fourth from the right is Rosalyn, late Cliff's mum.
Her business went down due to the financial demands of burial and she has not been able to restart again. She is really struggling.
The lady next to Rosalyn is our Sunday school teacher, Rachel.
She gets some casual cleaning job at a hotel but it's not consistent.
Sometimes she has to work on Sunday which affects her ministry.
They plan to buy wholesale and “hawk” which means to spread a cloth and sell beside the streets in the evenings. Some will offer cosmetics and toiletries, lady's personal garments, shoes, and the like.
They have taken classes to manage their sales and expenses. They each need about $100. We have a little more than half of that saved up already. Would you please donate? Several $10-25 gifts would go a long way.
It would be easy to give by PayPal or Zelle through my church as follows.

By these efforts we provide opportunities to both improve lifestyles and share the good news that Jesus lived and died for us and lives and loves us today, the best news of all.
Thank you for keeping us on your radar. That means a lot to me. What you contribute by time, attention, or dollars makes a big difference in someone’s today and tomorrow.

Gratefully, Utkufu kwa Mungu
Maxine

Elias Boyer was born today to Mary and Zach Boyer. Zach is Pastor Diane's grandson. Anxious to meet his mom, dad and sister Freya, Elias decided to come into this world a bit early. He weighs 3lbs.14ozs.

"Elias is a masculine name of Hebrew and Greek origin, meaning "my God is Yahweh" or "the Lord is my God". It is the Greek form of the biblical name Elijah (Eliyahu)".

Congratulations Mary and Zach. Monaghan UMC is proud to welcome Elias into its flock.

Church family and friends, please keep Elias and his family in your prayers.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NIV): "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres".
