We hope you are finishing up a good week, RCC Family! If you missed this past Sunday, Pastor Philip preached from Mark 12:1-12, on “The Vineyard and the Cross”. He explained that the human heart does not merely resist Jesus because it doubts His authority. It resists Jesus because it wants His authority. During this class, we will spend time talking about what it looks like to get connected to our church through groups, serving, and even becoming a commissioned member. He explained that we don’t mind a Jesus who comforts the afflicted, but we do struggle with a Jesus who afflicts the comfortable. That’s a wrap on our Deep Discipleship Equip Class! We had 19 people complete Sessions 1 & 2 this year! 🙌🏼🎉

If you are unfamiliar with the class, it is a a 24-week formation journey designed to help you follow Jesus more closely, engage Scripture more deeply, and build spiritual rhythms that last. The course is divided into two 12-week sessions, and it’s great for those who are new to the faith or just ready to grow further. It helps you move beyond surface-level belief into wholehearted, Spirit-formed discipleship. Each week includes teaching (both video and in-person), group discussion, and practical tools to help you grow in Christlikeness together with others.

We plan to teach this equip class again in the coming year, so look out for details in August!

Last week, our students gathered for ABIDE, a worship & student gathering. Two students responded saying that they want to make their faith public through baptism. 🙌🏼 The others made a commitment to do what they do well for the glory of God, and to do it somewhere strategic for the mission of God—and committed to reaching their “one more” for the gospel!
