Today, I pause to honor the life and legacy of our beloved Pastor Emeritus, The Reverend Ben Alexander.

Rev. Alexander faithfully served Mount Olive from 1972 to 2013 — 41 years of preaching, leading, shepherding, and helping keep the church united. It is amazing to think that next year, Mount Olive will celebrate 100 years, and for 41 of those years, Rev. Alexander served as pastor.

Notably, he led the church through a major season of transition as Mount Olive moved from its Wakefield Street property to the current edifice we worship in today. During his tenure, the church remained debt-free, and by God’s grace, Mount Olive still remains debt-free to this day.

Thank you, Rev. Alexander, for your faithful leadership, your dedicated service, and the lasting impact of your ministry.

Please join me in praying for his family and for all who loved him and were blessed through his ministry during his 92 years of life. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of many.
