Today we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Dr. King consistently taught that the Church is called to shape society with the love and justice of Christ — not simply reflect the culture, but transform it.

At One Community Church Greenville , we are grateful for his courage to point us toward a better way — a way shaped by love, truth, and sacrificial service.

As Dr. King wrote in Letter from Birmingham Jail:
“The church must be reminded that it is not the master or the servant of the state, but rather the conscience of the state.”

And as he famously said,
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

Today, we recommit ourselves to being that light in our city — across cultures, backgrounds, and generations.

May we not only remember his dream — but live it.
