Due to Facebook's new policy regarding livestreaming, We wanted to give everyone a heads up that tentatively starting October 5th (the first Sunday in October) we will switch livestreaming of our Sunday services to the BFC Youtube page.
For further context, Facebook has changed their policy on live streaming, and how long they allow a livestream to be kept on their website. What used to be indefinitely is now limited to 30 days before Facebook automatically deletes the livestream. With Youtube there currently is no time limit for live events.
Another plus side to Youtube is that it will not require an account to view the livestream (currently, Facebook forces you to have an account. At least that's how it works to my knowledge). meaning that for the regular service, it should be easier from everyone to view and share the livestream.
On the flipside, another reason for the switch is better privacy control over the livestream. In the past we've had to simply not livestream certain services for privacy considerations. With Youtube we can still live stream, but only to those that are provided a link to the stream.
For those that use the livestreaming service, I'd recommend subscribing to the BFC Youtube page. From there you can turn on notification settings if you wish to be alerted to when the live stream starts. For the first few weeks or month I'll try to provide a link to the Youtube stream to help get people pointed in the right direction.
The BFC Youtube page can be found via the following link, or by searching for BFCGreenville on Youtube. feel free to reach out if you're having issues finding us on Youtube.
Again, this is planned to start on October 5th. Announcements in the bulletin and such will follow in the coming weeks.
