First Presbyterian Church - Greensburg, Indiana

First Presbyterian Church - Greensburg, Indiana We welcome all to our Sunday services and delight in new visitors to our church. Who We Are! Our congregation enjoys a wide diversity in many areas.

The congregation is made up of a combination of members with family legacies as well as members who are new to the community. We are a close-knit congregation who enjoys worshipping together on Sundays as well as seeing each other through social, volunteer, and committee meetings throughout the week. We enjoy a traditional worship service with a variety of experiences and music from both The Presb

yterian Hymnal and Sing the Faith. Music is an important element in our church and a bell choir has recently been formed. Our congregation works tirelessly to continue the work of the church. And God’s love shines through each of us. Our staff includes an office administrator, music director, nursery caregiver, and facility manager. Our office administrator and volunteers keep our web site current. Visit us at www.fpcgburg.org.

Though we're centuries removed from the day that has become known as Good Friday (my preference is Holy Friday); we still experience the powers that be that aim to keep the work of Christ from coming to fruition. This is disheartening and devastating, but we must not forget that any seed planted in the ground has the potential to burst forth into new life and change the environment in which it is planted. It's my prayer all who read this are that new life.

If you are looking for a service today to bring some peace and calm in these chaotic times, we offer you this years Holy Week Service.

On this Maundy Thursday we want to share with you our Holy Week Service. Our service picks up after the love mandate and the institution of the Lord's Supper in the Garden of Gethsemane. May this service bring you peace and calm in these uncertain times.

We look forward to worshiping with you this final Sunday of Lent before Palm Sunday! This week is all about finding the calm in the midst of our wilderness experiences. Pastor Marena will guide us through worship with liturgy, poetry, responsive readings, and lots of music. The hope is that we can enjoy a quiet hour together to center our minds and hearts on God's peace in the midst of the chaos of the world. There will be no traditional sermon but instead music that brings opportunities for quiet reflection. Pastor Marena will be using JB Taylor's Nature Collection for piano. After worship, please consider staying for café conversations.

Even though we are not meeting in person this Sunday, you can watch a special video prepared by Pastor Marena which will feature a musical and communion reflection. You can watch this short video by using the YouTube link listed below.

First Presbyterian Church

Dear First Pres.,

After much discussion from the Session, we have decided it would be most compassionate to cancel Worship service tomorrow morning December 14. Our travel series will continue when travel is safer. We will celebrate the children's pageant and Bell Choir that was prepared for this Sunday on the following Sunday December 21.

Please pass the word. Stay safe and warm as possible.

With Love,

Your Session and Pastors
