Reminder that there is a spring church cleanup day tomorrow from 9 AM until noon. If you can come for part of the time or all of the time, it would be very much appreciated.

Trying to have a good cleanup to the Church before Holy Week begins.

Every week, our staff lifts up a circuit within the Indiana District in prayer. This week, we invite you to join us in praying for Circuit 18 – Aurora, which includes the following congregations:

• Bethany, Connersville – Rev. Gene Ott
• Faith, Madison – Rev. Jeffery Pflug
• Holy Trinity, Greensburg – Rev. Aaron West
• St. John, Aurora – Rev. Mark Hesse

As something that has been requested, anticipated, and awaited for a long time. Concordia Publishing House has at long last put out the text of the Reader's Edition of the Lutheran Confessions - The Book of Concord on a web site available to the public.

This is a wonderful, well designed resource of the church and I highly encourage your use and reading of this resource which we believe to be a faithful exposition of the Word of God, and hopefully you will see from it that we do not add interpretation to Holy Scripture, but faithfully submit to it, leaving the Word to speak for itself.

Explore The Book of Concord, the definitive collection of Lutheran confessional writings, including the Augsburg Confession, Small Catechism, and more.

It was announced to the congregation yesterday that I will be declining the call to St. Luke Lutheran Church in Winamac, Indiana and St. Mark Lutheran Church in Medaryville, Indiana and remaining as pastor of Holy Trinity.

I met some wonderful children of God from those two churches during the process of discernment and pray that the Lord brings a new man into their midst to be their pastor according to His will and in His time. Please pray for these two congregations as they seek to find a shepherd to entrust with the Office of the Keys on their behalf.

In Christ,

Pastor West

CHURCH CANCELLATION
Due to Decatur County continuing to be in a red travel status, all church activities for Sunday, December 14 are cancelled including the Christmas Dinner. The Christmas Dinner will not be rescheduled.

Here is this week's Worship Anew for your devotional use today:

Sermon Text: Matthew 11:2-10 John the Baptist asked Jesus if He was the Messiah because earlier John had preached that the Messiah would come in judgment. John did not see this happening in Jesus’ ministry. In response, Jesus indicates that He is indeed the Messiah and that John should be patient.

A decision regarding whether or not to have service tomorrow will not be made until early tomorrow morning. We are keeping an eye on the weather and road conditions and if a cancellation is necessary, it will be posted here on this page, on the church’s website, and be broadcast by WTRE radio.

I announced to the congregation this morning that I have received a divine call to the dual parish congregations of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Winamac, IN & St. Mark Lutheran Church in Medaryville, IN.

Note that receiving a call does not necessarily mean I am leaving. It is a matter of beginning the process of discernment, not the end of it. While the attached picture adds more detail, the general summary is that I will enter a time of contemplation and discernment about where I could best serve the Lord's Church. I intend to announce a decision prior to the Divine Service on Sunday December 21st.

Please keep all three congregations and myself in your prayers during this time, and input and thoughts are welcomed by pastor during this time.

In Christ,
Pastor West
