HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT--DON'T MISS IT
This video will explain why we have decided, after much prayer, to change the name of our church to Northern Baptist Church. THIS WAS 100% VOTE AMONGST CHURCH MEMBERSHIP TO CHANGE THE NAME. In Scripture, God often gave His people a new name when He brought them into a new work or new direction—Abraham, Israel, Peter, and others. A new name did not erase their past; it marked God’s hand upon their future (Isaiah 62:2). In the same way, this name change is not about leaving behind our heritage, our doctrine, or our identity in Christ. Those remain firmly the same. Instead, it is about clearly expressing who we are and who God is calling us to reach today.
This will most likely be the final post of this page. Thank you so much to all who have loved this church and poured into this special place through the years. Thank you to those who pray for us. We have only changed the name. Our doctrine has not changed. Our Bibles have not changed. We still have the same mission.
One of the driving forces behind this change has been the nonstop attack of some of the founding people and the first pastor. They seek to discredit me and the church as well as anyone who remains as members.
Having understood the first pastor's role in naming our great church, I want to give the name back and further distance ourselves from those that seek to see our great assembly fail.
May God use this change as an opportunity for them to all move on for the glory of God and for us to continue in the power and strength of God as Northern Baptist Church.
