Reminder: Invite your friends and family who need to hear the Gospel tomorrow night to Bible Study; it will be an evangelistic message! Starts at 7pm - adults in the worship theatre, kids age 4-11 in the Discipleship room for "Little Pilgrim, Big Journey" and childcare for kids age 3 & younger.

SUMMER CHURCHWIDE BIBLE STUDY – This week, Bible Study will be evangelistic focused, so invite your unsaved friends and family this week! Bible study is every Wednesday this summer at 7pm. We’ll begin every week with worship then dive into the Word together. Kids age 4-11 will have worship then study “Little Pilgrim’s Big Journey Part 3” in the Discipleship Room. Childcare will be available for ages 3 and younger.

COMMUNION – Next Sunday, June 28 we will have communion in both services.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC MISSION TRIP INTEREST MEETING - If you are interested, or just have questions about a mission trip to the DR, please plan to attend an interest meeting next Sunday, June 28 after the 11:00 service in T-town (beside the playground). YOUNG AT HEART: 50+ MINISTRY GATHERING – If you’re age 50 or better, join us on Saturday, July 4 at 5:30pm for a fun Fourth of July event at the home of Rob & Lynn Royal, 2603 W. Woodlyn Way in Greensboro. Their community puts on a fabulous fireworks show every year! Bring a chair or blanket and a dessert to share. A philly cheesesteak food truck will be available. BIBLE READING Q & A:
QUESTIONS
Well to be honest the more I read it the more the questions grew. The original question was about God consulting with His subjects in His throne room about this, that He’s asking for suggestions and this “spirit” comes forward with the idea to lie, and God was like “yep do that”. He’s living truth..that seems out of character which I know is impossible so I can’t wrap my head around that.

Then the Micaiah part..He first says “I won’t say anything other that what The Lord tells me to say” then he shows up and says the lie. Then after being pressed he tells the truth. So that was Gods plan? THEN even after the truth was told, the kings do it anyway..so were the lies even necessary? The whole thing is very “head gamey” and there were other situations like “the man of God” and “the old prophet” in 1 Kings 13 that also felt like messes up head games. I feel very strongly that these things are tied to understanding a side of Gods character that I don’t know or understand yet…I just can’t seem to unlock it.

ANSWERS:
Let’s take them one at a time. First, the question about the spirit offering to lie. I believe that is a demonic spirit who acted through the false prophets. Whether the conversation happened just as it’s laid out or if that is a description of God, just allowing demons to operate in certain areas might be debated. But the clear lesson in it is that God is in control. And, he allows certain things to happen in our life either because of our disobedience or even to work a certain work in us. The point is even the demons are subject to God‘s will.

On the second question, Micaiah was answering sarcastically when he spoke to the kings. Otherwise, how would they have have called him out not telling the truth? I think he was telling the truth that he would only speak what God said, and with his tone of voice and body language, he was making it clear that listening to the false profits would be unsuccessful.

Important Reminder for TOMORROW!
The LoveLife Prayer Walk is tomorrow at 9am!
Because the Greensboro abortion clinic has been shut down (Praise God!) we are now going to be meeting in Winston Salem! PARKING IS IMPORTANT - We will have parking at Triad OBGYN at 2909 Maplegate Avenue in Winston Salem. We will also have parking at Salem Pregnancy Center which is where we will be praying at, it’s across from Planned Parenthood in WS.
