As we approach the 25th anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, we invite the citizens of Caroline County to come together in solidarity and reflection. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. at the Caroline County Courthouse. This is a moment to honor the lives lost, the heroes who emerged, and the resilience of our community.

We are privileged to have Lt. Col. Franklin Childress as our keynote speaker. Having been transferred to the Pentegon a week before 9/11/01, Childress will share his story of survival and his commitment to honor fallen colleagues and serve those most impacted by the events of that day.

WASHINGTON (BP)--In Jeremiah 29:11-13 the Lord boldly declares: "I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Those verses have never been truer for me than they were on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001.

Where were you on September 11, 2001? It was a beautiful, sunny day. People were going about their business as usual until the unthinkable happened. Four planes, three buildings, and a field near Shanksville, PA shook our world and shattered our sense of safety and security. In the days following that tragic event, we made a collective promise to "NEVER FORGET." Now, 25 years later, we are honoring that promise with a Community Service of Remembrance on the Courthouse Steps in Denton, Maryland, on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. Join Caroline County leaders, first responders, and residents as we commemorate the courage and honor the sacrifices made that day—by both innocent lives and brave first responders.

What a remarkable display of Christ’s followers during Caroline County's March for Jesus 2026, held last night, August 19! It was inspiring to see so many churches, pastors, and congregation members gather for the march, followed by a meaningful time of prayer at the Caroline County Courthouse on Marker Street. The March for Jesus marks the beginning of Caroline County's Summerfest, uniting churches, pastors, and congregants in prayer for God’s peace and protection over the weekend festivities.
