"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." Ps. 23:4
Nothing can take us from our heavenly Fathers hand. Sometimes on our journey it seems as though we walk alone. But God is always with us. As long as we keep going, we will reach the other side where the Son shines His light on our path.

JESUS FORETOLD IN GENESIS

Genesis 3:15 (The first prophecy in the Bible, Jesus was to be that seed of the woman)
"15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."

Gen 22:18 (Jesus was the promised seed of Abraham)
"18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice."

Gen 26:4 (In Jesus, the seed of Abraham through Isaac, the whole world is blessed)
"4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;"

Genesis 49:10 (The sceptre denotes King, Shiloh means Peace; Jesus is the King of Peace)
"10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be."

DOING THE RIGHT THING sometimes cost dearly but the reward is eternal.
"Even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed."
1 Peter 3:14

Read:
1 Peter 3:13-17
An honors student in Massachusetts learned that a friend was drunk at a party and needed a safe ride home. When she came to collect her friend, the police arrived too and she was arrested with the group. This Good Samaritan had not been drinking, was not in possession of alcohol, and the police later vouched for her sobriety and behavior. Nevertheless her school, citing its zero-tolerance policy, suspended her from her sports team. The case has since been argued in the court of public opinion, where one person posted this ironic comment: "Thank goodness she didn't have a Bible on her or she would have been in real trouble."

Sometimes we get in real trouble trying to do the right thing. In Genesis 37, Joseph obeyed his father's request, but it led to an opportunity for his brothers to betray him. One good deed cost him thirteen years of freedom. But in the end, God supremely vindicated him and used it for good. If you should suffer for righteousness' sake, don't grow weary. You are blessed, and God will uphold you in His supreme ways.

Doing the Right thing according to His righteousness.

Some members of the Ephesian church were gathering to worship in the villa of Marcellus, a wealthy Roman convert.
The Roman emperor Domitian had demanded that everyone in the empire swear an oath to worship him.
He had especially singled out Jews and Christians because he suspected their disloyalty to Rome.
We are on a spiral path downward toward the same type of persecution.

Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away.
Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward(J) shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil.
For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land. Ps. 37:1-9

How long will you wait to be healed?
Have faith that you are already healed and pick up your mat and walk.

The Healing at the Pool
Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish festivals. Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. Here a great number of disabled people used to lie—the blind, the lame, the paralyzed. One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”
“Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.”
Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.
The day on which this took place was a Sabbath, and so the Jewish leaders said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath; the law forbids you to carry your mat.”
But he replied, “The man who made me well said to me, ‘Pick up your mat and walk.’ ”
So they asked him, “Who is this fellow who told you to pick it up and walk?”
The man who was healed had no idea who it was, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there.
