You don’t have to walk through grief alone!

If you or someone you know—a family member, friend, or neighbor—is facing a season of grief, we invite you to share this opportunity with them. You may be giving someone a meaningful gift of hope, support, and encouragement.

The fall session of GriefShare, hosted by First Methodist Church of Greensboro–Lake Oconee, begins Monday, September 14, from 6–8 p.m. in Room 201 at the Lake Oconee Campus.

A new month means a new Children’s Sermon Series!

This September, our kids will spend each Sunday learning more about Jesus through stories that show us how He helped, prayed, loved, and welcomed others. Each week brings a new Bible story and a simple truth our children can carry with them throughout their week.

Please join us in welcoming James Curington to the First Methodist Church Greensboro–Lake Oconee family!

James will join our ministry team on September 1 as our Connections Director, where he'll lead our youth ministry, oversee hospitality and guest connections, support new member experiences, and assist with preaching, worship, and discipleship.

A graduate of the University of Georgia and soon-to-be Master of Divinity graduate from Asbury Theological Seminary, James brings a passion for prayer, disciple-making, missions, and helping people grow in their relationship with Christ.

We are excited for the gifts, leadership, and heart for ministry he will bring to our church family.

Please join us in praying for James as he prepares for this new season, and be sure to give him a warm First Methodist welcome when he arrives this fall!

As we continue praying for the Global Methodist Church and the upcoming General Conference, today's focus is on unity through humility.

"With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." — Ephesians 4:2–3

Today, let's pray for every delegate, leader, and participant. Ask God to fill them with wisdom, humility, and spiritual discernment. Pray that every conversation would be guided by the Holy Spirit and that every decision would bring glory to Christ and strengthen His Church.

May we also be reminded that true unity is not found in agreeing on everything, but in faithfully seeking God's will together with grace, love, and humility.
