Stewardship of Talents and Gifts - Discover your Gifts

Monday Moment
Gracious God, thank You for creating me with unique gifts and abilities. Open my eyes to recognize the gifts You have placed within me and help me understand how You are calling me to use them. Amen.

Scripture
“As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” 1 Peter 4:10

Reflection
Every person has been given gifts by God. Some are easy to recognize; others may be quietly waiting to be discovered. Stewardship begins by recognizing that our talents are not simply things we are good at—they are gifts entrusted to us for a purpose.

Engagement
• Ask yourself: “What comes naturally to me? What brings me joy? What do others often ask me to help with?” Write down three gifts you believe God may have given you.
• Take the “One Step” challenge. Learn about one parish ministry or committee you have never explored. Ask a question, attend an event, or have a conversation with someone already involved. You don’t have to make a commitment—simply be open to where God might be calling you.
• Seniors – Join Us!
o Conversation BINGO on the 8th
o Spiritual Reflection with Bill Parker and Sing Along Luncheon on the 15th
• Bible studies begin in early September - Lectio: Salvation, Bible Timeline Morning & Evening.

• OCIA begins in early September for those who wish to become Catholic.

• Bus Transportation to the Eucharistic Congress is available through the parish. The EC is in Charlotte on Saturday, September 12. Register on Realm.

STEWARDSHIP OF TIME – REDEEMING EVERY MOMENT

Monday Moment
Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of each day. Help me to treasure every moment as an opportunity to love you and serve others. May I use my time wisely, cherish the people You place in my life and trust You with the moments I cannot control. Teach me to live each day with purpose, gratitude and joy.
Amen.

Scripture:
“Watch carefully then how you live, not as foolish persons but as wise, making the most of the opportunity, because the days are evil” Ephesians 5:15-16

Reflection
Life is made up of ordinary moments, yet God works through each one. Stewardship of TIME is not about filling every minute of time with activity – it is about being faithful in moments God gives us. Every conversation, every act of kindness, every prayer, every laugh with family and every quiet moment can become an offering to God.

Engagement
o Choose one “ordinary” moment each day and intentionally make it holy.
o Call someone who may be lonely
o Watch a sunrise or sunset and give thanks to God
o End each day by naming one moment where you experienced God’s presence.

STEWARDSHIP OF TIME – MISSION

Monday Moment

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help us use every opportunity to reflect Your love. May our words, actions, and the way we spend our time point others toward You. Amen.

Scripture: Conduct yourselves wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. (Colossians 4:5)

Reflection
o Every interaction is an opportunity to share Christ through kindness, generosity, and genuine presence. Stewardship of time is not only about managing our schedules well. It is about investing our time in people and making every moment count for God's Kingdom.

Engagement
o Perform one intentional act of kindness for someone outside your usual circle.
o Invite a friend, neighbor, or coworker to join you at Mass or a parish event.
o Before ending each day, reflect on how you used your time to share Christ with others.

STEWARDSHIP OF TIME – PRIORITY

Monday Moment

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help us seek You before all else. May our schedules reflect our priorities, and may we always make room for prayer, worship, and loving service. Amen.

Scripture: But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides. (Matthew 6:33)

Reflection
o Our calendars often reveal what matters most to us. Stewardship of time challenges us to intentionally place God first, not only on Sundays, but in our daily routines. When we prioritize our relationship with Christ, the rest of life finds its proper balance.

Engagement
o Schedule time for prayer just as you would any important appointment.
o Attend daily Mass if your schedule allows, or spend time in Eucharistic Adoration

STEWARDSHIP OF TIME – SEASONS
Monday Moment – August 10

Prayer: Lord, help us embrace each season of our lives with trust and gratitude. Give us patience to wait on Your timing and courage to follow where You lead. Amen.

Scripture: There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every affair under the heavens. (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

Reflection
Life is filled with changing seasons: times of joy and sorrow, work and rest, beginnings and endings. Stewardship of time means trusting that God is present in every season and inviting Him into whatever chapter we are living today.

Engagement
o Register to attend Theology Uncorked on August 20th
o Go on a Bus Trip to see “Come From Away” on August 29th – 30th
o Reflect on the season of life you are currently experiencing.
o Thank God for one blessing unique to this season.
o Make time this week to simply be present with your family, without distractions.

STEWARDSHIP OF TIME
MONDAY MOMENT

o PRAYER: Heavenly Father, teach us to treasure each day as a gift from You. Grant us the wisdom to use our time in ways that honor You and serve others. Amen.

SCRIPTURE
o Teach us to count our days aright, that we may gain wisdom of heart. (Psalm 90:12)

REFLECTION
o Time is one of God's greatest gifts, yet it is often the easiest to take for granted. Every day presents opportunities to pray, encourage someone, serve another, and grow in faith. Stewardship begins by recognizing that each moment has purpose when it is lived with God at the center.

ENGAGMENT
o Begin each morning this week by offering your day to God.
o Spend 10 uninterrupted minutes in prayer or Scripture.
o Reach out to someone who could use encouragement with a phone call or handwritten note.

STEWARDSHIP OF COMMUNITY AND PATRIOTISM - MONDAY MOMENT

Lord of all,
Bless our parish family.
Help us to grow together in faith and service.
Amen.

Scripture
1 Peter 3:8 "Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.”

Reflection
To be tenderhearted is to be motivated to act with kindness and mercy, to use empathy like a superpower and to act on that superpower. Remember, everyone can help someone.

Engagement: Our parish family is our first community, there are so many ways to become involved!
● Consider servant leadership principles. How can you (re)engage in our Church community or empower others to become more involved?
● Sing! Raise your voice at Mass from your pew, in the choir, or playing an instrument.
● Connect with new and old friends and enjoy an outing with these two upcoming socials:
○ “Come From Away” Bus Trip to Barter Theatre on August 29-30
○ Summer Concert at Stonefield Cellars Winery on July 31.
