Welcoming Hannah Clifford to our staff as our Children's Ministry Director!
If you had asked me a year ago what my day-to-day would look like, I don't think I would have had any idea that it would involve serving as the Director of Kids' Ministry for Living Way. In fact, as much as I love teaching children, this time last year, I decided to take a break from children's ministry after 10 years of serving. Struggling through a long season of infertility, as well as dealing with an increasingly stressful environment at my corporate job, were taking their toll.
At Celebration Southeast 2026, I went down for prayer at the end of one of the sessions. I remember holding out my hands and asking God to lead me in the ways that He would have me serve the church. I wasn't sure if it was time to jump back into children's ministry again, or if there was something else the Lord was calling me to. I didn't hear a clear answer in the moment, but I felt expectant.
Even still, I was taken by surprise when, a few weeks later, Clark told me that the church needed to have someone on staff as the kids' ministry director, and that they felt I would be a good fit. I don't know why I continue to be amazed when God answers my prayers, because He always has and He always will, but I am astounded by His goodness. I had been wanting to leave my corporate job for some time; I had even been slowly working on a proofreading and editing certification to get there. This opportunity to work for the church truly was an answer to prayer, but one that also required a leap of faith, as I would be going from full-time to part-time, and I had not completed my certifications. But as Will and I prayed over the decision and sought counsel, we felt that God was saying, "Yes."
I am filled with joy that I am able to serve the families and children of Living Way. It's amazing to me how well this role fits my passion and my giftings. I love working administratively and behind the scenes, and I love teaching God's Word to children. Although Will and I still pray for children of our own, he pointed out that I have an opportunity now to serve and bless the children of Living Way, and I am so thankful.
