New Jerusalem Tabernacle of Prayer

New Jerusalem Tabernacle of Prayer Where we believe that the "Prayer of Faith Works and Jesus Never Fails." Statements of Our Beliefs

We believe:
1. In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
2.

In one God eternally existing in three persons, namely the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.
3. That Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried and raised from the dead, ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the intercessor.
4. That all have sinned and come short of t

he glory of God, and that repentance is commanded by God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sin.
5. That justification, regeneration and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
6. In sanctification subsequent to the new birth through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ, through the word and by the Holy Ghost.
7. Holiness to be God's standard of living for his people.
8. In the baptism of the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
9. In speaking in other tongues as the spirit gives utterance and that is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
10. In water baptism by immersion and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost in Jesus' name.
11. Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.
12. In the Lord's supper and the washing of the saint's feet.
13. In the premillennial second coming of Jesus, first to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to him in the air, second to reign on the earth a thousand years.
14. In the bodily resurrection, eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.

The Promise of Finding God

Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 29:13

“And find me…”

Devotional

One of the most encouraging promises in Scripture is that those who genuinely seek the LORD will find Him.
God is near to those who call upon Him.

“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.” (James 4:8)

When we seek Him:
1. We find His peace.
2. We find His guidance.
3. We find His strength.
4. We find His mercy.
5. We find His presence.

The greatest reward of seeking God is not what He gives us—it is finding Him.

Questions To Consider:
1. Have I experienced God’s presence recently?
2. What blessings have come from seeking Him?
3. How can I continue pursuing Him beyond Today?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise that when I seek You, I will find You. Draw me closer to You every day. Let Your presence become more real in my life. Help me walk with You faithfully until the day I see You face to face. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Declaration

“As I seek the Lord with all my heart, I will find Him and walk in His presence.”

Let’s Pray

Father, thank You for Your promise in Jeremiah 29:13. Forgive us for the times we have been distracted, indifferent, or half-hearted in our pursuit of You. Stir within us a fresh hunger for Your presence. Teach us to seek You daily, love You completely, and follow You faithfully. May our hearts be fully devoted to You, and may we experience the joy of finding You in every season of life. Through Jesus Christ our Lord we pray. Amen.

Memory Verse:
“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” — Jeremiah 29:13 (KJV)

Good Morning!

Hebrews 9:27-28 (KJV)

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.”
Hebrews 9:27-28

Background

The book of Hebrews was written to show that Jesus Christ is superior to the Old Testament sacrifices, priests, and covenant system. In chapter 9, the writer explains that the sacrifices under the Law had to be offered repeatedly, but Jesus offered Himself once for all time.

Verse 27 Explained

“It is appointed unto men once to die…”

This teaches that every person has a divine appointment with death.
1. Death entered the world because of sin (Romans 5:12).
2. Human beings do not live on earth forever.
3. The Bible does not teach repeated earthly lives (reincarnation).

Psalm 89:48

“What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death?”

“…but after this the judgment”

After death comes accountability before God.
1. Every person will stand before God.
2. Believers will give an account of their lives (2 Corinthians 5:10).
3. Unbelievers will face the Great White Throne Judgment (Revelation 20:11-15).

The writer is emphasizing the certainty of two things:
1. Death
2. Judgment

Just as death happens once, Christ’s sacrifice happened once.

Verse 28 Explained

“So Christ was once offered…”

The word “so” connects verse 27 to verse 28.

The comparison is:
1. People die once.
2. Christ died once.

Unlike Old Testament sacrifices that were repeated year after year, Jesus’ sacrifice was complete and sufficient forever.

Hebrews 10:12

“But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God.”

“…to bear the sins of many”

Jesus took upon Himself the punishment for our sins.

Isaiah 53:6

“The LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”

1 Peter 2:24

“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree.”

Christ became our substitute, carrying the penalty we deserved.

“…unto them that look for him”

This refers to believers who are eagerly awaiting Christ’s return.
Looking for Him means expecting Him.
Loving His appearing.
Living in readiness and faithfulness.

Titus 2:13

“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.”

“…shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation”

This does not mean Jesus ever sinned.

It means that when He came the first time, He came to deal with the problem of sin through His sacrifice.

When He returns:
He will not come to die again.
He will not come as a suffering servant.
He will come as King, Judge, and Deliverer.

For believers, His second coming completes our salvation through resurrection, glorification, and eternal life.

Philippians 3:20-21

“For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour…”

Key Lessons

1. Death is certain.

Every person has an appointment with death unless Christ returns first.

2. Judgment is certain.

We will all stand before God and give an account.

3. Christ’s sacrifice was sufficient.

Jesus died once and paid for sin completely.

4. Believers should live expectantly.

We are to watch, pray, and be ready for His return.

5. Jesus is coming again.

His first coming brought redemption; His second coming will bring the fullness of salvation to His people.

Summary

Hebrews 9:27-28 teaches that just as every person dies once and then faces judgment, Jesus Christ offered Himself once as the perfect sacrifice for sin. Those who trust Him and eagerly await His return have the promise that He will come again—not to deal with sin through another sacrifice, but to bring the fullness of salvation to His redeemed people.

The message is clear: Be ready. Christ died once for our sins, and He is coming again for those who are looking for Him. Amen

The Call to Seek God

Scripture: “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” — Jeremiah 29:13

“And ye shall seek me…”

Devotional

God’s invitation begins with a call to seek Him. Seeking God is more than attending church, reading a few verses, or saying a quick prayer. It is a deliberate pursuit of His presence, His will, and His fellowship.

Throughout Scripture, God honors those who seek Him.

David sought God in the wilderness (Psalm 63:1).
Daniel sought God through prayer (Daniel 9:3).
The wise men sought Jesus and found Him (Matthew 2:1-11).

Seeking God means making Him our highest priority.

Questions To Consider:

1. What place does God hold in my daily life?
2. Am I pursuing God with intentionality?
3. What distractions may be hindering my relationship with Him?

Prayer

Father, create within me a desire to seek You above all else. Help me put aside distractions and pursue Your presence daily. Let my heart hunger for You more than anything this world offers.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
