Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” But sometimes my relentless need to understand why things are happening reveals that I’m leaning into my own logic instead of fully trusting God.

We can’t lean on our own understanding and fully trust God at the same time.

So ask yourself: Which way am I leaning?

Even when we don’t understand God’s ways or why He allows certain things to happen, we can trust that He has us in His sovereign care. As we acknowledge Him, pray, cry out to Him, and seek Him in His Word, we can trust Him to direct our path.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to pray for our retreat, Anchored in Christ, at Berkley Community Church in Michigan. 🙏🏻

The Lord moved in a powerful way as we worshipped, studied His Word, and fellowshipped together.

These women have a very special place in my heart.

We laughed, shared tears, and poured out our hearts to our God. It was a beautiful time together.

I’m deeply humbled and honored to have served them this weekend.

To God alone be ALL the glory! 🙌🏻

A huge thanks also to Christine Trimpe, the best emcee ever!

And Jennifer Groh, thank you for the honor to serve the Lord alongside you and your amazing leadership team.

Much love to you all, Jesus Girls at Berkley. ❤️

Hello, Michigan! 👋

I’m here to speak at a women’s retreat this weekend, and I’d be deeply thankful if you’d take a moment to pray for us.

Pray that God’s Word would speak to every woman who attends and that each one would leave more deeply anchored in His truth.

“For as the rain and snow come down from heaven… so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose.” Isaiah 55:10–11

I’m so excited to see what God is going to do. ❤️

As our children head back to school, let’s pause and pray over them, the teachers who will pour into them throughout the coming school year, and the entire faculty who serve in our schools. 🙏

We never know how desparately someone needs an encouraging word.

Proverbs 18:21 tells us, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”

Who can you speak life to today?

Be careful of the words you rehearse over yourself. 💭

Someone may have spoken hurtful, damaging words over you that wounded you deeply. Those words may have deeply impacted the way you see yourself.

And when you continue repeating those words to yourself, you can reinforce those lies in your thought patterns and beliefs.

That doesn’t minimize the pain you experienced, but you don’t have to remain captive to what someone else said about you.

Breaking free doesn’t come through sheer willpower or positive thinking. It comes through replacing lies with the truth of God’s Word.

What does God say about you? What does He say about your worth? Who does He say you are in Christ?

God’s Word warns us where pride leads: “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall” (Proverbs 16:18).

Lord, keep me humble.

Have you ever left a conversation and thought, Why did I say that? Or… Why didn’t I say this instead?

I have.

That’s why Proverbs 15:23 really resonated with me today:

“A person finds joy in giving an apt reply—and how good is a timely word!” Proverbs 15:23 (NIV)

This verse has actually become a prayer of mine.

Lord, help me to have a timely word in my conversations. Give me the right words at the right time so that what I say helps the person I’m talking to and brings glory to You. In Jesus name, Amen.

2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
