It's always sad to see a tree come down, but it was necessary for everyone's protection. We give thanks for the shade that this grand elm has provided our children, the shelter it has provided to wildlife, and the countless pinatas that have hung from its branches. Limbwalkers Tree Service did a great job!

Almighty God on this Memorial Day we remember all those who served their country in its hour of need, and especially those who gave their lives in that service. We remember with gratitude their courage and strength and hold before you those who still mourn. May we never take their sacrifice for granted. Amen.

May 22 is the anniversary of the local debut of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood! (it went national two years later, in February 1968.) In his closing words to each show, "You always make each day a special day. You know how: By just your being you. There's only one person in the whole world that's like you, and that's you. On Sunday afternoon, about 40 neighbors from Greendale, Greenfield, Franklin, Milwaukee, Hales Corners and New Berlin gathered to talk with each other about the pressures on our and our loved ones' lives, and to explore what could be done about them. The top pressures were childcare, the cost of housing, and transportation. This was the first conversation of many--be on the lookout for more opportunities! What pressures are on YOUR life?
