Thank you, thank you, everyone! What a great collection of items we have for welcome home baskets for Habitat for Humanity. Such a blessing for a family moving into a new home to have some of these supplies ready to go!
We also collected $850 for Habitat in our Noisy Offering on Sunday, and that will be TRIPLED thanks to some other donors to Habitat, to a total of $2550! Thank you for all that noise!!

Have you heard?? This year's Rally Day is on the move .... we are headed to Greendale Community Park (on 76th, near the tennis courts) for an outdoor bluegrass worship and a picnic to follow! BYO lawn chair and a dish to share and let's kick off this program year together!
Oh, and -- you get to sleep in! It's at 10 am!!

There's always a lot that takes place behind-the-scenes at St. Luke's .... people who help clean, organize, plant, tend flowers, fix tech problems, move heavy things ... the list goes on and on. The last few weeks, as we've been tackling projects around the building AND getting ready for the program year, the church has been busier than ever. Thank you to EVERYONE who has cleaned out a classroom, organized a closet, moved furniture, fixed a phoneline, made a payment or coordinated with workers. In the words of last year's stewardship campaign, we are Better Together!

It's a new month, and this month our outreach is Outreach for Hope, which provides grants to ministries across the synod. Their primary fundraiser is the Ride Run Walk, which takes place on Saturday morning, Sept 26. Join the St. Luke's team in a 5K fun run or 2 mile walk at Washington Park, or just come to cheer them on and enjoy the lunch and fellowship! You can also sponsor our walkers or runners. Mark your calendars--sign up coming soon!

Last week at WINGS, we made 20 baby kits for Lutheran World Federation to distribute in the relief efforts. Thank you to all who donated and helped pack the items. It's amazing how cute anything baby-sized is! We pray that God uses these items to bless families in precarious situations and remind them that they are not alone.

We cleaned, swept, glued, laid floors, and papered those floors to protect them from the next tasks in the house. Last week volunteers from Sargento were there and they brought lots of cheese; next week the Brewers are coming and sometimes they bring game tickets. All we had was Jesus’ love and willing hands—but hey, we all learned something, no one got hurt, and the job got done—I call that a good day’s work! Thank you to David, Lukas, Doug and Matt for your help, Bernard and Tad who showed us the ropes, and Carol, Lani, Kathy and Frieda who provided lunch.
