Life has a way of turning into a storm when we least expect it. 🌊

Bishop Michael Curry reminds us that when Peter stepped out onto the water, the storm didn't actually stop. The wind was still howling and the waves were still crashing: the "uh-oh" moment was very real.

But the secret to walking through the storm isn't waiting for the weather to clear. It's keeping our eyes on the prize. For us at Gobin, that prize is the way of Jesus, his radical teachings of love, and the simple truth that we never have to hold on alone.

When things get choppy, don't focus on the waves. Focus on the love. Hold on. Baby, hold on. ✨🕊️

There was some quiet magic moving through the narthex yesterday morning. ✨

If you looked closely, you could see the sun playing through the trees outside, catching the colors of our stained glass and casting a literal "divine dance" right across the wall. It was a beautiful, living reminder of how God moves: always in motion, always creative, and always inviting us in.

As Sharon Baker Putt describes it, we aren’t just spectators at this ball. We aren’t meant to be wallflowers. Every single one of us has our name on the "dance card" of God’s extravagant grace. Whether it’s a waltz or a jitterbug, God knows the steps and wants us as partners in this work of transforming the world through compassion.

At Gobin, we try to live out that dance every day: making sure there’s room on the floor for everyone, no exceptions. 🕊️

We’re still in the season of Eastertide, which means we’re still looking for what resurrection looks like in our everyday lives.

In a recent reflection at The Cottage, Diana Butler Bass explores the Emmaus Road: the story of how the divine was finally recognized not in a grand miracle, but in the simple act of breaking bread together.

“The guest was the host... God was at the table all along, hidden in the bread and the wine and the conversation of friends.” : Diana Butler Bass

At Gobin, we see these small moments of resurrection all the time. It’s in the quiet conversations in our sanctuary, the shared support in our recovery groups, and the simple welcome of an open door. The sacred isn't far away; it’s right here in the faces of our neighbors and the stories we share.

Join us tomorrow at 9:30 or 11:00 AM as we continue to look for the holy in the ordinary. There’s always a place for you at the table.

Beauty, Memory, and Grief.

In our sanctuary at Gobin, these three threads are woven into the very fabric of the stones and stained glass. For nearly 100 years, this building has held the weight of our community: the sharp sting of loss, the golden light of memory, and the breathtaking beauty of everyday resurrections.

Following the Center for Action and Contemplation’s daily meditation theme, "Good News for a Fractured World," we recognize that being a sanctuary means making space for the wholeness of our human experience. A fractured world doesn’t need us to hide our scars; it needs us to find the sacred within them.

Our building is more than architecture; it is a living container for the stories of Greencastle. It is a place where we practice the art of "sacred activism": tending to our inner peace while persistently calling for outward justice, mercy, and liberation.

Whether you are carrying a heavy grief or celebrating a quiet beauty, know that you are not alone in this landscape. You are seen. You are sacred. You are beloved.

Being unstoppable together shows up in the small, faithful choices.

This weekend, choose one:
• Reach out to someone you haven't checked on
• Pray intentionally for another member
• Speak encouragement where it's needed
• Rest without guilt

Come back and tell us what you chose and how it shifted you.
