For generations of Catholics, "Religious Education" in their parish was typically a classroom experience. Students were separated into grade-level groups, textbooks or workbooks were used and parents had little to no role unless they volunteered to be catechists.

Young people diligently made first Reconciliation and first Holy Communion in second grade and later received Confirmation in high school. Once confirmed, young people were expected to continue to participate in the Mass and parish life as young adults, be married in the Church and then raise their children in a similar way.

WOW!!!! The Church is Alive in the Diocese of Crookston ! Over 80 youth from all across the Diocese met for an evening of fun, food, fellowship, praise and worship, Adoration and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. What a beautiful time to share our love of Jesus.

Community and friends are crucial to living a life of faith and supporting each other through trials and triumphs. Our goal is to help our youth develop those life-long friendships to grow deeper in their Catholic faith and handle what the world will throw at them 🙏❤️

TONIGHT! All area youth in grades 6- recent grads are welcome to join us for XLT at Blessed Sacrament Church!

We have a STACKED team of leaders from across the Diocese who will be leading us in a great night!

We start the evening with Schtick (don't worry, we'll teach you this crazy fun Diocesan game 😜), then an awesome pasta bar supper, followed by a beautiful talk given by a local young adult, Adoration, praise and worship and confession, and ending the night with a fire!

Our parish cluster was well represented at the 2nd week of JPII Camp at the Nazareth Retreat House in Crookston this week!

Father Bryan was the spiritual director to lead the 52 youth and 22 staff through the week focused on The Creed. He not only helped walk us through this prayer that teaches us what we actually believe as Christians, but many discovered how competitive he is!

Maria Mooney was a small group leader, walking with her young ladies to break open each talk and evening event of Adoration or Confession.

Will Foss was on Service Team. This team focused on the behind the scenes work to make camp run, plus provided endless entertainment with silly skits, connecting with the kids, and beating them in the afternoon games 😆.

We had 5 youth attend as campers, some as first time attendees. They made a lot of new friends, grew closer to Jesus, and learned more about why we're Catholic 🙏❤️.

Jess Foss was the assistant director and unofficial camp mom. She was deeply moved by the unapologetic and trusting faith of the youth this week, and is so hopeful for the Church in the Diocese of Crookston.
