“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭28‬

FCA devotional brought by student-leader, Raelyn Snedegar

Paul, in Romans 8:28, tells us that ALL things work together for the good of those who love Him. As Raelyn pointed out, we can take this as encouragement because it’s a reminder of how God has a plan for each one of us. Even when things seem difficult and you can’t understand how anything good can come from a hard season, understand that God is still able to produce good from it! 🔥✝️

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭23‬

Weekly devotional brought by student-leader, Kaden Stone

Kaden highlights how we should work hard at everything as though we are working for the Lord to glorify His name! When we invite Him into our areas of work, our mindset changes to working for Him!✝️🔥

Scripture(s):
- “From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things, and the work of their hands brings them reward.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12‬:‭14‬
- “The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12‬:‭18‬

Weekly devotional brought by student-leader, Emily Hudson

As Emily highlighted, our words have significant influence. We can brighten someone’s day up just as fast as ruins someone’s day. Let’s be people who glorify God by speaking the way He desires us to! ✝️🔥

Scripture(s):
- “Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might, while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sound of trumpets. As the ark of the Lord was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, she despised him in her heart.”
‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭6‬:‭14‬-‭16‬
- “When David returned home to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him and said, “How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, going around half-naked in full view of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would!” David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the Lord’s people Israel—I will celebrate before the Lord.”
‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭6‬:‭20‬-‭21‬
- “And Michal daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.”
‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭6‬:‭23‬

Weekly FCA devotional by FCA volunteer, Noah McCutcheon

Noah points out how David had to humble himself to worship the way he did. This shows how David was truly a man after Gods heart - he cared much more about worshipping God than what others thought of him. How far are you willing to go to praise God? 🔥✝️

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Weekly devotional brought by FCA volunteer, Kallie Cochran

Kallie points out how David called God a good shepherd and the reasons why he did - God is trustworthy, personal, caring, and protecting. As Kallie highlighted, this is something we can meditate on in all seasons (especially the difficult ones)! ✝️🔥

““Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭11‬-‭12‬

Weekly devotional brought by FCA volunteer, Bryan Pastrana

Often, when we are persecuted or outcasted because of following Jesus, we only set our focus on the present. Bryan points out that when these trials arise, to turn our focus from the present to eternity. In considering Heaven and eternity with Jesus, our present persecution can become much more manageable! ✝️🔥

“Consider it a great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭2‬-‭4‬

Weekly devotional brought by FCA volunteer, Amy Nutter

As Amy highlighted, we can find joy in the trials and tribulations because from them our faith can be strengthened. As difficult as it may be, try to focus on the bigger picture when going through a trial (growing deeper with the Lord). ✝️🔥
