PREPARE FOR SUNDAY
There's a lot to unpack in this Sunday's Gospel - Matthew 18: 15-20, text in comments - but the last sentence speaks to who we are and what we do:
"For where two or three are gathered together in my name,
there am I in the midst of them."
We are CHURCH - the body of Christ, and when even just two of us gather in his name, he is there, in our midst.
AMEN?

Good morning parish family - our Gospel for this Sunday, August 30, is Matthew 16: 21-27 (full text in first comment), and, WHAT??? Peter, you JUST showed great faith, and now you try to take control and impose your human standard on our Lord???
Our Lord shows us how to be his disciples - by taking up our cross, denying ourselves, and following him.
But how do we do this? As the psalmist says, "You are my help, and in the shadow of your wings I shout for joy. My soul clings fast to you; your right hand upholds me."

"But who do you say that I am?"

Update on our live stream Masses -
1⃣ we occasionally experience disruptions with our wifi, which causes the end of the stream. On Sundays, we'll restart, but not on weekdays. We're exploring ways to keep this from happening, we'll keep you posted.
2⃣ we will not have daily Mass on Saturday 8/22 or Saturday 8/29, so, no stream!
3⃣ Pope Leo has recently reminded us that watching a video or live stream of Sunday Mass does NOT fulfill the obligation to attend in person. We offer the live streamed Mass on Sundays (and holy days of obligation) for those who are not able to attend due to a "serious reason (for example illness, the care of infants)" - please see paragraph 2181 of the catechism.
