Because of what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross, we can draw near to Him with confidence. Furthermore, when we bridge the distance between us and God, we receive mercy and grace, which are important because we continue to make mistakes even after we enter into a relationship with Jesus Christ. How would you describe your approachability level with God?

A common theme throughout the book of Joshua is the Lord's call for Joshua and the Israelite people to be strong and very courageous. The reason why they do not need to fear is because the Lord is fighting on their side and none of their enemies will prevail. When was a time that the Lord allowed you to be victorious despite the adverse circumstances?

Many of us know that the Lord is faithful and keeps His promises; this is one of His key characteristics. Yet, when our circumstances turn sour, we often doubt and question whether He’s still with us. The truth is that God doesn’t change. We are fickle and easily change our minds but God doesn’t go back on His Word.

The Israelites were God's chosen people and their status depended on their obedience to the Lord and His ways. Why is obedience essential in our relationship with God? It's how we convey our love and devotion to Him, especially when we obey even when the circumstances seem unfavorable and inopportune. How have you been walking in His ways?

In Deuteronomy 27, the curses at Mount Ebel were vows that the Israelites kept to the Lord; if they disobeyed His commandments, they would experience misfortune and severe consequences. A chapter later, in Deuteronomy 28, the Lord proclaims the blessings that He will bestow in keeping with His faithful nature. Furthermore, these blessings will be more than what we expected; they will overtake us.

In several passages within Proverbs, a recurring theme surfaces: the sovereignty of God. In Proverbs 16:9 and Proverbs 16:33, the Word tells us that man may craft his path but every outcome is already known by the Lord. This realization can be quite humbling but also sets our hearts at ease because we are not isolated from our Father.

When we sin and fall short of God's perfect standard, God knows every action we take and nothing is hidden from Him. Exodus 32:23 makes it clear that our sins will be revealed; it's just a matter of time. How do you view your mistakes now, and what can you do to acknowledge them in a godly manner?

How do you react when the odds are stacked against you? Fear, dread, and panic are all natural human responses to the uncertain and unknown. However, we do not have to fear because the Lord will fight for us (Exodus 14:14); we only have to stand by and watch Him work. Now that you know this truth, how does this change how you'll respond to inauspicious circumstances?

Before the city of Jericho fell, Joshua commanded the Israelites to withhold themselves from taking any banned items, lest they dishonor the Lord and incur His wrath. It was important for the people to recognize that this victory was only possible by the Lord's might and deliverance. How can you give God all due credit in your own life?

Sometimes, we make empty promises that we can't keep but with God, all of His promises are yes and amen! Whatever the Lord speaks will come to pass and He will accomplish what He says. How great it is to serve the One who is always faithful to His Word!

In Exodus 16, we see God's nature as the Provider when He provided manna for the Israelites so they wouldn't go hungry. In doing so, He also tested their faith in Him and His instruction because any portion in excess of one day's worth spoiled. When was a time that you needed to trust the Lord to provide, especially when the future wasn't yet assured?
