We are thankful to share an encouraging step forward for RU Recovery Ministries.

RU is grateful to introduce Pastor Doug Knight as our Northeast RU Missionary.

Pastor Knight brings both local church leadership and years of RU experience to this role. From 2004 to 2012, he directed a thriving RU chapter that averaged 80 to 100 attendees each week and helped start and train recovery ministries throughout the Northeast. He has been in Pastoral ministry since 2017 and today serves as the Senior Pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church.

In this new role, Pastor Knight’s desire is to help strengthen existing RU chapters, assist churches interested in starting new recovery ministries, and encourage directors and workers who are faithfully laboring to reach individuals and families with the transforming power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We are excited about what the Lord is doing and thankful for the opportunity to take this step forward together.

Recently at RU, we received this powerful testimony:

“As a child, I remember staring into the mirror, feeling empty and unsure of who I was. I grew up in church and accepted Christ at 12 years old, but even then, I struggled with confusion, poor choices, and a heart searching for something more.

Through recovery, I’ve learned it’s not just about breaking habits, it’s about healing the heart. It’s about finding your true identity in Christ and allowing Him to turn your pain into purpose.

God wasn’t finished with me… and He’s not finished with you either.”

There is hope. There is healing. There is freedom.

1. If God’s against it, so am I!
2. Every sin has its origin in the heart.
3. It is easier to keep the heart clean than to clean it after it has been defiled.
4. We cannot fight a fleshly appetite by indulging in it.
5. Small compromises lead to great disasters.
6. Those who do not love the Lord will not help us serve the Lord.
7. Our sinful habits do hurt those who follow us.
8. It is not possible to fight a fleshly temptation with fleshly weapons.​
9. We lose our freedom to choose when we give in to temptation. Our consequences are inevitable and incalculable and up to God.
10. God balances guilt with blame. Accept the blame for your actions and God will remove the guilt.

As we step into 2026, we want to thank everyone who faithfully stands with RU Recovery Ministries. Because of your prayers, encouragement, and generosity, men and women seeking freedom in Christ continue to find hope and transformation.

2025 Highlights:

• Over 10,000 pieces of RU curriculum were purchased and distributed.
• Six families reunited through RU Jail Ministries.
• Fifty-one letters were received from students completing Phase One.
• Over 145,000 addicts were helped.
• Eleven new chapters were established, with four more in process.
• Most importantly, 41 souls found salvation through the RU Recovery curriculum.

RU Recovery remains a Christ-centered, not-for-profit ministry, dedicated to offering affordable, high-quality recovery curriculum to anyone who shares our desire to help people find lasting freedom in Christ.

✨ Testimony Time ✨

Earlier this year, I was at one of the lowest points of my life—facing eviction, struggling as a single mom, and feeling like things would never get better. Then, someone knocked on my door and shared the gospel with me. I started attending church, and in March I made the decision to trust Christ as my Savior. For the first time, I knew 100% that I would go to heaven.

Since then, my life has completely changed. I’ve become faithful in attending services, joined a recovery program, and started reading my Bible and praying daily. Even though I’m still waiting for a permanent home, God has given me peace, strength, and blessings I never noticed before. I’ve learned to let go of negative influences and surround myself with people who love the Lord.

Now my kids and I look forward to church every week. My daughter is even memorizing scripture right alongside me. God is building a stronger bond in our family, and I love the person I am becoming through Him.

Life is still full of challenges, but with Jesus by my side, every trial is worth it. Praise God for the victory! 🙌 - Recent Testimony Our Offices Received
