On Sunday, for our Family Worship Gathering, our exposition took place in Joshua 5–6. We saw that being on the Lord’s side is not about God taking our side, but us surrendering to His—trusting His ways, obeying His Word, and depending on His power. Ultimately, this points us to Christ, who has won the greater victory over sin for His people.

We rejoice in God’s kindness in filling the quiver of Doxa Church with many arrows. As we come alongside parents in preparing their children for life in Christ’s world, we regularly invite our elementary students into the gathered worship so they may see, learn, and be shaped by the people of God worshiping the Lord Jesus. This Lord’s Day is one of those opportunities—come ready to worship together as one body.

On Sunday, we continued our exposition through Romans—the greatest exposition of the gospel the world has ever known—and saw that the gospel produces the obedience of faith among the nations for the sake of Christ’s name. If you belong to Christ, you are not just the fruit of that mission—you are now part of it.

The sermon is now available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify—join us as we continue walking through Romans together.

And when they heard it, they lifted their voices together to God… — Acts 4:24

The early church responded not first with strategy, but with unified prayer. They sought the Lord for His glory and for boldness in the gospel.

We gather to do the same—seeking God’s glory, the advance of His Kingdom, and grace to do His will.

Join us for the Prayer Meeting — March 23rd at 6:30pm

On Sunday we continued our exposition through Romans—the greatest exposition on the gospel the world has ever known—and saw that the gospel concerns a person: Jesus Christ our Lord. The Son who came in weakness now stands revealed in power through the resurrection from the dead. If you missed Sunday or would like to listen again, the sermon is now available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

On Sunday we continued our study of Romans and saw that the gospel Paul proclaimed was not a new religious innovation but the fulfillment of God’s ancient promise, foretold through the prophets in the Holy Scriptures. In Romans 1:3–4, Paul clarifies the chief concern of the gospel’s content. The gospel is not good advice from someone — it is good news about someone: the Son of God, Jesus Christ our Lord. Read the Word.
Remember the Word.

Our hearts are prone to wander — so we store up Scripture.

As we move through Romans — a gospel promised beforehand (Romans 1:2) — we remember:

For all the promises of God find their Yes in Him.
2 Corinthians 1:20

Every promise.
Yes in Christ.

Commit it to heart.

On Sunday, we were again in the book of Romans — the greatest exposition on the gospel the world has ever known. In Romans 1:2, Paul shows that the gospel is not new but God’s ancient promise, purposed before time, proclaimed through the prophets, and preserved in Holy Scripture. Because it rests on divine authority, we can trust it fully and proclaim it boldly.

Before arrows are shaped and released, the warrior must be formed.

In A Fit & Formed Warrior (1 Thessalonians 2:7–12), we see the kind of soul every parent must cultivate — one marked by a tender heart, steady hands, and directed feet. Biblical parenting begins not with technique, but with character.

As we walk through our Arrows & Quivers: An Exposition on Biblical Parenting, we are urging our Doxa Communities to pick up 8 Errors Parents Make. J.C. Ryle reminds us,

“The soul of a child is the most delicate piece of workmanship that ever came from the hand of God, and it is put into our hands to train for eternity.”

Let us not take this stewardship lightly. This brief but searching resource offers sobering help for parents who long to shepherd their children with greater faithfulness and care.

Our Vision.

For the last several years, my family and other church leaders have dreamed about planting a church. We did not know when, nor where, but had a bold confidence this was God’s call on our lives.

In May 2017, God provided us with clarity to plant in Clay County, and specifically, Orange Park, Florida. We are excited to be taking the first steps of obedience to plant a gospel-centered, missional church in the Orange Park area.

In the coming weeks and months, we will be sharing more about Doxa Church’s vision, mission, and core convictions, but here is a brief look at our vision and mission.

Doxa Church exists to see every inch of Orange Park filled with the glory of God by making disciples, planting churches, and fostering spiritual reformation through the Gospel of Jesus.
