Today is Pentecost Sunday, Praise Be To God! Today we celebrate the beginning of the church as the Holy Spirit filled the people, and they repented and were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Thousands of people that day were baptized, but my Sister's and Brothers, what does it say next in Act 2.
The Fellowship of the Believers
42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
These believers not only were baptized, BUT, and this is a huge BUT, they began learning and living their faith. Believe me, I get excited to when I hear that thousands are baptized in 2026, BUT, I have to ask what comes next?
Do we, church, stop at baptism, and let God's Work be halfway completed?
Today may we all ponder that question. May we all ask ourselves where have we let God's mission be halfway completed???
Please pray with me
Heavenly Father, as you have called us all to repent and to be baptized, not only in water but in Spirit, you have also called us to be your hands and feet in this world. To live as Disciples of Jesus Christ, not only in word, but in deed.
Please Lord, hear our prayers to show us where we are to work beside you, within the work that you have already begun!
We love you so much Lord, and desire to be filled with your Spirit to the place that we are bursting with an overflowing love for you, and all those around us.
Help us Lord to not leave your mission halfway completed Lord, but to serve as you call us to serve, and that is in every place we go, we live, and where we speak the name of Jesus Christ! Amen!!
God loves us all so much, and he has given us more grace and mercy than we could ever begin to deserve. Let us speak his name, and let us share the Good News of Jesus Christ in such a way that people say we know that is the power of the Holy Spirit within them!!
God loves y'all so much and so do we 🥰🥰🥰
