TITHING
I had no intention of doing this but I felt impressed to ask a question yesterday, and the question was, "Could non-tithers be slowing down the coming of the Lord?" That was the whole point of the post. Some went off on tangents, but that was the point of the post.
This morning while laying in bed meditating on the Lord, He began to deal with me to continue, so I will. If you know me you know that I NEVER ask for money, so this is not about me, it is about you and your relationship with God.
Only about 9% of Evangelicals are actual tithers, and to me that presents a huge problem. Because God asks a question in Mal 3:8, "Will a man rob God?" So it IS POSSIBLE to rob God. Then God proceeds to tell us how a man can rob Him.
"Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings."
So God considers someone a robber if they do not pay tithes and give in the offering. I did not want to say that because I know that there are varied opinions about tithing, but I feel compelled to say it anyway, even if I lose friends over it. This could be a heaven and hell issue and I do not want to be silent.
There is a difference between a thief and a robber. A thief comes to your house when you are not there and steals your stuff. But a robber just puts a gun in your back, or in your face, and demands all your money. God called people who do not pay tithes - robbers. So in essence, when we do not give God what belongs to Him, we aren't just thieves stealing God's money while He is not looking, we are arrogant robbers, sticking a gun in God's face, and demanding what belongs to Him. I know, I know, that may be too harsh of a statement for some to stomach, but that is what I believe. So I will say it in hopes that someone who is not obeying God will be convicted and start obeying Him.
So the real question is this, "Is God going to allow someone who robbed Him of what was rightfully His, live with Him for all eternity in heaven?"
You will have to answer that yourself - and then live accordingly.
As for me, I am not going to take a chance, but I joyfully give to God what is His, and He has blessed me abundantly for doing so.
