𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗮𝘁 𝟭𝟬:𝟬𝟬 𝗮𝗺

Welcome back to our Fellowship! Please remember to bring a small sample of water from one of your favorite activities over the summer, e.g. swimming, gardening, a hike to a lake, fishing, or perhaps even a trip to the ocean. During this annual kick off ceremony, we share the spiritual meaning the water holds for you and then mingling it with others to represent our return to the Green Bay Fellowship for a new program year.

𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀, 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿!

This month consider the possibility that our most sacred journeys begin with a question, not a destination. This is an orientation that believes the journey is about wholeness and unfolding, not striving and winning or “keeping your eyes on the prize”.

It is an orientation that asks us to let go of questions like: How can I get ahead? How do I stay on top? How can I prove my worth? Instead it invites us to listen for deeper, more meaningful questions such as: Who am I becoming? Is the voice I’m following really my own? Where does my joy meet the needs of the world?

❓So what question is waiting for you? Maybe it’s one you’ve been carrying for years, or one you’ve only just begun to notice. This month, give yourself permission to stop, listen, and follow it. You may be surprised where it leads.

🎶 What a wonderful afternoon of music at GBAUUF!

Yesterday we were delighted to welcome back Recorders By the Bay for a beautiful concert in place of our regular Sunday service. This talented Green Bay ensemble, formed in 1998, shared the rich and often-overlooked sounds of the recorder through music rooted in the medieval and Renaissance traditions.

Thank you to Recorders by the Bay for filling our Fellowship with beautiful music, history, and joy—and thank you to everyone who joined us! 💚

We’re so grateful to have such wonderful local musicians as part of our community. 🎵

Henry David Thoreau wrote: “I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.” The words of this important American philosopher resonate with many UUs as well as with Katina. What does Thoreau teach us about living with intention and the ideals expressed in Transcendentalism, and what have her immersive solo adventures taught her about the importance of solitude?
