Hope Center love sharing the building with Westside Love Life!!!
In 2016 St. Patrickโs Pantry moved out of the basement of St. Patrickโ Church and West Side Love Life Ministry moved out of St. Joseph church into a location they share at 505 Clinton Street. This has become kind of a partnership as both organizations strives to help those in need in our community.
Love Life focuses on providing formula, diapers, books, clothes, blankets and baby gear such as high chairs, strollers, play pens, toys, etc. to parents with children ages 3 and under.
Hope Center Pantry strives to provide food, person hygiene, cleaning and paper products to those going through a tough spot in their lives.
Being โroommatesโ for over 7 years now has grown a camaraderie between the two organizations. The Pantry is open 4 days a week (Monday โ Thursday) and Love Life is open 1 day a week (Thursday).
Suffice it to say that the Hope Center building is hopping on Thursdayโs! There are some volunteers that help out with both groups. We also refer our clients to each other as quite often the clients come in for a specific need and arenโt aware of the services the other organization right down the hall can offer them.
Sometimes we get donations that are better distributed through the other organization. An example would be if the Pantry is donated formula, baby powder or baby body wash/shampoo, we take that straight down to Love Life. Similarly if Love Life is donated adult incontinence pads (e.g. Depends) or meal replacement shakes (e.g. Ensure), they bring those right down to the Pantry.
Our common goal is to dispense all donations we receive to those that need it most. Both organizations strive to be the face of Jesus to those in need in our community. These โroommatesโ have become like extended family as we check in on each other and provide support in whatever way we can. We are privileged to have formed such a strong partnership and look forward to continuing to work together!
