First Presbyterian Church of Green Bay

First Presbyterian Church of Green Bay Our Mission is to "Inspire All to Love and Serve with Christ". Every member at First Presbyterian Church is challenged to discover their personal mission.

First Presbyterian Church of Green Bay has had that mission from God on the near west side of Green Bay since 1876 In many quiet and unassuming ways, our members volunteer their time and talents for the church and for various non-profit organizations in the community,

The Outreach Committee facilitates efforts to serve the neighborhood and the area through its support of the Presbyterian Food Pantry and its outreach to students at Tank Elementary School.

πŸŽ’βœ¨ What a morning! βœ¨πŸŽ’

Thank you to everyone who came out for Backpacks & Blessings yesterday! We had such an amazing turnout that we actually ran out of the tags we ordered to hand out β€” that's a wonderful problem to have! πŸ™πŸ’›

We were also reminded of what it means to be a good neighbor, inspired in part by the wisdom of Mr. Rogers, who taught generations that we can love people simply for who they are β€” no achievements required. 🌟 That message paired beautifully with our sermon on the Good Samaritan and the question, "Who is my neighbor?"

As we head into this week, let's carry that spirit with us: look for one small way to be a neighbor to someone around you β€” a kind word, a helping hand, a moment of real presence. πŸ€πŸ’« Won't you be my neighbor this week? 😊

Feeling so thankful today for this community. πŸ™Œ

Love God. Love your neighbor.

It sounds simple β€” until you try to live it out every single day. πŸ’›

Luke 10:27 lays the foundation for everything Jesus teaches about the Good Samaritan: loving God with everything we have and loving the people around us just as much as we love ourselves. This Sunday, we're unpacking what that really looks like in our own lives β€” at home, at school, at work, and everywhere in between.

Join us Sunday at 10:00 AM as we explore this Great Commandment together. πŸ™Œ

πŸŽ’βœ¨ Backpacks, Meet Blessings! βœ¨πŸŽ’

This Sunday, September 13 at 10:00 AM, bring your backpack (lunchbox, laptop bag, or gym bag β€” we don't judge! πŸ˜„) and let's kick off the school year the right way β€” with prayer, community, and a reminder that loving our neighbors starts right in our own hallways.

πŸ“– This week's service dives into the story of the Good Samaritan and asks the big question: "Who is my neighbor?" πŸ€”πŸ’› Whether you're headed back to the classroom, the office, or just navigating everyday life, we're exploring what it looks like to love the people around us and carry God's light into every hallway, cafeteria, and carpool line 🌟

Come as you are. Bring a neighbor. Let's grow together! πŸ™Œ

πŸ™ What a beautiful Sunday.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for "Take A Moment" β€” for pausing with us, remembering God's faithfulness through Exodus 12, and gathering together at the Communion table. 🍞πŸ₯‚ It's a gift to slow down together like that.

As we move into this week, we want to leave you with the same invitation: take a moment. Pause. Breathe. Reflect on what God actually means to you, not just in the big moments, but in the ordinary ones too. πŸ•―οΈ

And remember what Romans 13:8 calls us to: "Owe no one anything, except to love one another." We're never finished paying that debt, love is always due, always owed, to the people right in front of us. This week, who's it your turn to love a little more intentionally? πŸ’›

πŸŽ‚ And a very special happy belated birthday to Ms. Connie Early, who celebrated yesterday, September 7th! Singing to her together during worship on Sunday was such a heartwarming moment for our whole church family. We love you, Connie! πŸŽ‰πŸ’

🌿 One more thank you before we go: a huge shoutout to everyone who helped with the landscaping out front of the church last week! The care and effort put into refreshing our entrance means so much, it truly reflects the love and pride our church family has for this place.

⏰ 2 hours until worship!

Today: "Take A Moment" β€” Exodus 12:1-14 & Romans 13:8-11 πŸ•―οΈ

We're pausing to remember, and coming to the Table together for Communion. 🍞πŸ₯‚

Come as you are. We'll save you a seat. πŸ’›

πŸ“– A verse worth sitting with before Sunday...

"Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law." β€” Romans 13:8 🀍

Paul isn't talking about a feeling here. He's talking about a debt β€” something we owe, continuously, to the people around us. Not just the people who are easy to love. All of them. πŸ‘€

So here's a question for today: Who is God asking you to pay that debt to this week? A neighbor? A coworker? Someone you've been avoiding? πŸ’

Drop a πŸ™ if you're carrying this question with you today, and we'll see you Sunday as we bring this to the Table together. 🍞πŸ₯‚

πŸ•―οΈ This Sunday, we're pausing.

Before the rush of the week catches up with you... before the noise of everything pulling at your attention... we want to invite you to Take A Moment. ✨

Thousands of years ago, God told a weary, enslaved people to mark their doorframes in blood and remember β€” really remember β€” the night He set them free (Exodus 12:1-14). 🩸πŸšͺ That same call echoes into Romans 13, where Paul reminds us we carry a debt that's never fully paid off: the debt to love one another. πŸ’›

This week, we're bringing both threads to the Communion table. Because remembering what God has done and loving the people in front of us were never two separate things. They're the same movement. 🍞πŸ₯‚

So here's a question to sit with before Sunday: What would change if you actually took a moment this week β€” to remember, and to love? πŸ€”

πŸ‘‰ Join us this Sunday at 10:00am as we slow down together.
