For nearly 20 years, Dr. Nate Adams provided steady leadership to the Illinois Baptist State Association, guiding Illinois Baptists through seasons of challenge, change, and opportunity. His gift for administration and organizational leadership has been evident throughout our state, and I am grateful for the years he invested in serving Illinois Baptists.
On April 1, Dr. Scott Foshie began serving as the new Executive Director of IBSA, and I am genuinely excited about this new season.
Scott brings something very special to this role: the heart of a pastor.
He is a man called and gifted by God to shepherd people, encourage churches, and help pastors and congregations faithfully carry out the Great Commission. I believe that pastoral heart will be felt throughout IBSA as he leads our network of churches in the years ahead.
Scott has been my friend for more than 10 years. While serving as pastor of First Baptist Church in Steeleville, he also became my zone consultant. I have had the privilege of knowing him not simply as a denominational leader, but as a pastor, encourager, brother in Christ, and friend.
That is why I am especially excited to announce that Dr. Scott Foshie will be preaching at First Baptist Church Grayville on Sunday, August 23.
We are looking forward to welcoming Scott to Grayville and hearing the Word of God proclaimed.
I am thankful for the faithful leadership of Dr. Nate Adams, thankful for the friendship and ministry of Dr. Scott Foshie, and excited to see what God has ahead for Illinois Baptists.
FBC Grayville, make plans to join us August 23 as we welcome Dr. Scott Foshie! Immediately following the service we will move to the fellowship hall and have a potluck lunch which will allow us to continue meeting and conversing with Scott and hearing his heart and love for IBSA. .
