The Bible is replete with signs and warnings of the end of days asa we know them. The phrase "as the days of Lot and Noah, so shall it be at the coming of Jesus" is a biblical reference found in Luke 17:26-30
"Eating, drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage": This phrase from Luke 17:26
Sudden destruction: Just as the flood came unexpectedly in Noah's time and fire rained down on S***m in Lot's time, Jesus' return will be sudden and unexpected
“Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations” he “walked with God” (Genesis 6:9)
WE SEE SIGNS
- THE WORD *END OF DAYS* IS FOUND IN THIS
The apostle Peter echoed Jesus’ connection between these two events, explaining that God “did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of S***m and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly” (2 Peter 2:5-6;
“Scoffers will come in the last days, … saying, ‘Where is the promise of His coming?’” (2 Peter 3:3-4).
THE END OF DAYS-1 Ti 4
"The Holy Spirit clearly says that in the last days some people will leave the faith"
"They will follow SEDUCING spirits that will fool them"
"They will believe things that demons will teach them"
-PEOPLE WERE DOING THIER OWN THING-POPULARITY, DRINKING, IMMORALITY
–VIOLENCE WAS PRESENT GENESIS 6
-PEOPLE THOUGHTS PERVERTED
“the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” (Genesis 6:5)
JESUS SAYS-“For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies” (Matthew 15:19)
THE PROPHET PROCLAIMS- “There is no truth or mercy or knowledge of God in the land. By swearing and lying, killing and stealing and committing adultery, they break all restraint, with bloodshed upon bloodshed. Therefore the land will mourn; and everyone who dwells there will waste away” (Hosea 4:1-3)
MT 24 WARNS OF WARS
An estimated 203 million people were killed by wars just in the 20th century (Matthew White, Historical Atlas of the Twentieth Century, 2010, “Deaths by War”)
IN THE DAYS OF NOAH
-PEOPLE DID NOT SEEK GOD-IN TODAYS VEBICULAR GOD WAS IRRELEVANT
-LOVE WAS REPLACED WITH LUSTS AND SEDUCING SPIRITS- NOAH LIVED IN PERILOUS TIMES-GE 6:3
RO 12:21 GIVES US A SNAPSHOT OF THE CONDITION OF MANKIND- “Although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.”
-NOAH’S TIME THEY WERE FOOLS AND CHOOSE WORKS OF THE FLESH GAL 5:19-
TODAY WE LIVE ON A PLANET filled with pleasure-seeking, materialism, immorality, violence, idleness and a rejection of the things of God (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
LOOKS A LOT LIKE TODAY
AS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH SO SHALL JESUS COME
JESUS SAID,“But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day [of Christ’s coming and God’s wrath] come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man” (Luke 21:34-36)
