Scripture- Acts 9: 1-6
Message- “The Blessings found in Going through a Storm”
In the text, the disciples were trapped in a fierce storm on the sea of Galilee. They were in the storm because Jesus had commanded them earlier to cross the sea while he remained in the desert after performing a miracle(2 fishes/5 barley loaves). Being in Christ and following his directions do not prevent us from encountering storms in our lives. Sometimes we find ourselves in the same situations as the disciples were. During those times we must remember that the Lord knows what’s best for us(Romans 8:28).
The Lord uses the storms as a means to come see about us. While in the mountain Jesus prayed to the Father to receive power to perform miracles. The disciples had been roaring for nine hours. Jesus came between the hours of 3 AM and 6 AM walking on the water. The storm was a blessing because it brought Jesus to the disciples.
The disciples didn’t recognize him. Storms test our faith. The message of faith Jesus gave caused them to recognize him. He gives us a message of faith, peace, and power(Philippians 4:6-7, Matthew 1:23). Jesus says,” Be of good cheer” because I am here. Storms are blessings because they give us a testimony about Jesus.
Storms testify that Jesus has the power to deliver us from our storms. Jesus didn’t say a mumbling word. He stepped into the boat and the wind became calm. The disciples praised and worshipped Jesus. We need to acknowledge that Jesus is our Savior, miracle worker, and storm rider. Thank Jesus for giving peace to our storm! He calmed the greatest storm which was sin by dying on the cross. He was buried and rose from the grave with all power in his hands! Walk on your storm by putting faith in Jesus!

Acts 9:1-6
Message- “On a Collision Course with Jesus”
To be on a collision course means that two people are headed down the same path where they will collide with each other. Saul(Roman name)was on a collision course with Jesus about the Lord’s church, the disciples and those followers of this way in Verse two. Like Saul, all sinners need a collision course encounter with Jesus.
A collision course with Jesus can change a sinners destination in life from hell to heaven, their name can be removed from book of damnation to book of salvation, and placed in the Lamb Book of Life. If you don’t have a collision course encounter with Jesus, seek to have one immediately. The collision between Saul and Jesus was because Saul gave his consent to stone Stephen(Acts 8:1)and made havoc of the Church in Jerusalem by searching for and arresting men and women and putting them in prison.
Saul initiated a collision with Jesus when he continued to persecute the church, when he breathe out threats, slaughtered the disciples, and killed all the followers and Christians. Jesus showed up before Saul entered Damascus. The Lord defends his people(1 Samuel 17:47, Joshua 23:10, Psalms 27:1-3). The Christians were probably waiting for Saul to come arrest them on the Damascus Road, but because Jesus showed up, no Christians were arrested. Saul collided with Jesus 150 miles away from Jerusalem. When Saul met Jesus on the Damascus Road, he was immediately converted from persecuting the church to one of the greatest witness. Paul wrote 13 books in the New Testament.

Message- “Women Who Make a Difference”
Today is Mother’s Day. We honors Mothers on this day for the difference they have made in our lives as children. It’s the day that our minds travel back in time to recall the many things they have done to make a difference in our lives that determines who we are and what we will be in the future.
The text speaks of a woman name Tabitha(Dorcas)which means gazelle. Tabitha possessed the nature of a gazelle. She was kind hearted, good-natured, loving, gentle, receptive to others, and demonstrated the fruit of the Spirit(Galatians 5:22-23). Tabitha was a disciple, and a follower who served God(Romans 10:9-10, Matthew 1-6:24, Psalms 100:2). She was full of good works and alms deeds. She made coats for the widows(Matthew 6:1-4, 5:16). Faith flowed out of her heart daily(1 Timothy 6:18).
Tabitha became sick and died. Even though we do good works, it doesn’t exempt us from being sick, suffering, or even death. Peter prayed and God heard Peter’s prayers. Tabitha was raised from the dead. Mothers need to talk with God. Just a little talk with God will make everything all right. Mothers make a difference in your child’s life. Mothers tell your child about Jesus‘s life, death, and ascension. Remind your child to read the Word of God on a daily basis. Mothers, “YOU” make a difference in your child’s life.

Scripture- Hebrews 12:24
Message- The Speaking Blood
Jesus actually shed his blood for all of us. He shed it mix with sweat in the garden of Gethsemane when he prayed to God the Father for the removal of a cup which He eventually had to drink. He also shed his blood while hanging on the cross. He died, suffered, and bled for us. The blood that Jesus shed is referred to in many ways in the New Testament as Blood of the New Testament (Matthew 26:26), Purchasing Blood( Acts 29:28), Satisfying Blood(Romans 3:25), Santifying Blood(Hebrew 13:12), Cleansing Blood(1 Peter 1:19), Speaking Blood(Revelation 12:11).
In the text, the writer of the book of Hebrews refer to the blood as the Speaking Blood. Just as wounds on Jesus speaks, the blood also speaks. The blood of Jesus speaks to us loud and clear. What does the blood of Jesus say to us? The blood of Jesus speaks about the Mediator, the New Covenant, and better things than Abel’s blood.
Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer is our mediator. He speaks to God on our behalf, brings favors, binds us together, office our prayers, pleas with God, and bring God and people together. The blood speaks about the New Covenant, the Gospel Covenant, Covenant of Grace, and the Christian Covenant with our God. The blood of Jesus did away with the old covenant. God has formulated a new covenant which is now known as The Covenant of Grace. The writer of Hebrews speaks of Cain killing Abel. Abel’s blood cried out from the ground. His blood cried for justice and punishment. Jesus’s blood offers better things such as acceptance, forgiveness, peace, and pleas for sinners.

Scripture- Psalms 119:133
Message- Order My Steps in Your Word
Psalms is the 19th book in the Bible. It’s the longest book of Poetry. The theme of the book is the believers communion with a true and living God through prayer and grace. It’s believed to be written by David because of it’s Davidic form, expression and coincidence with his experiences as a Shepherd and King of Israel. Psalms 119 is a Divine Psalms given by inspiration of the Almighty God that breathes steadfastness, confidence in God/the Word of God, builds knowledge and an appreciation for the Word of God.
In the text, the Psalmist recognized the need for the Lord to order his steps. He asked the Lord to arrange his ways, decisions, and actions. As people of God, we need the Lord to order our steps if we want to be good and righteous in the sight of God(Psalms 23:3, Proverbs 3:5-6, Matthew 6:33). The Psalmist petitioned(prayed)the Lord. It was a petition from a human seeker to a Divine giver. He did a correct and wise thing, when he petitioned the Lord(Luke 18:1, Matthew 7:7-8, Philippians 4:6-7, Hebrew 4:16). The Divine giver can deliver us from the power of sin and causes us to walk the path of righteousness like Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Deborah, David, and Jesus. Jesus lived a blessed, pure life, preached the gospel, performed miracles, took an old rugged cross, went up to Calvary, where he hung, bled, and died. He was buried, rose, exalted, and given a name above above all names. He’s coming back! Will you be ready! God can ORDER YOUR STEPS!

Message- “A Prescription for Tough Times”
We are presently living in tough times(gas prices, war, etc). These times are uncomfortable for Christians and unbelievers. Times that depress our spirits, disturb our minds, and deprive our souls of the vigor and vitality of life. We are struggling to find some sort of a state of normalcy in our lives. We are desperately in need of a prescription for tough times. As believers in Christ, we need a biblical prescription that will show us how to deal with the tough times that are confronting us in this day and time. We are blessed because the Lord has provided us with many Biblical prescriptions for tough times. The text verse is one of those Biblical prescriptions that we need for tough times. Use the following prescription for tough times!
1. Rejoice in hope. Paul says let your hope be the foundation of your joy in tough times. Let hope be an incentive that causes you to rejoice. Our hope will never fail because our hope is in God.
2. Be patient in tribulation. Tribulation refers to the dark times that we are experiencing right now. Paul says be steadfast, don’t quit, wait calmly, don’t murmur or complain. Thank God for tough times! You’re only being tested(Job,Joseph). Place your faith in Jesus(Philippians 4:13).
3. Continue instantly in prayer. Paul tells us to be persistent in prayer. Pray until God delivers you. God commands us to pray(1 Thessalonians 5:17). Only God can answer prayers. Stay in contact with God! Jesus used the prescription for tough times according to 1 Peter 2:21-23). God will use his power to make everything all right! APPLY the PRESCRIPTION!

Psalms 118:5
Message- A Season for Prayer
Every season is the season for prayer. The season when all things are going well in your life is a season for prayer. The season when all things are going wrong and nothing at all is going well or right is the season for prayer. The season of joy, sorrow, when you’re blessed beyond measure, cursed, decision-making, when all is calm, is a season for prayer. We can conclude that every season is the season for prayer. Those who call upon the Lord in season of good times find it natural and easy to call upon the Lord when times are poor. This is a season of distress for all of us because of the affordability crisis, war, threat of losing our right to vote has placed us in a season of prayer. Don’t turn to a friend, neighbor, or spouse, during this season of distress. None of them can help! Turn to the Lord!
David composed Psalm 118. In this psalm. David was in distress because all of the nations surrounded Israel wanted to destroy Israel. David found it easy to call upon the Lord during his season of distress because he had called upon the Lord when there was no distress in his life. David prayed and gave thanks to the Lord during his season of goodness.
Throughout the Bible we can see that the Lord answers prayers(Psalms 3:4, 6:9, 34:6, 34:9, 40:1-3). The Lord always has an answer. During this season of distress, run quickly to the throne of grace! Christians need to pray! Make this your season for prayer! David constantly bragged about the Lord hearing and answering his prayers. The Lord has heard and answered our prayers many times, during our season of distress. How do you know God can? I know because a long, long time ago when we were caught in the crevice of sin, God took us out of the crevice of sin and set us in a large place. God sent Jesus into the world to bare the sins of the world. Jesus took a cross, went up to Calvary, where he was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon upon him; and and with his stripes we are healed. Jesus rose with all power in His hands. Trust in the Lord!

Scripture-John 20:1-8
Message- The Testimony of the Tomb
Today is an exciting day for Christians throughput the world. We’ve gathered to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ over 2000 or more years ago. Jesus rose victoriously over death and the grave. However, many people think today is just another day to wear their new clothes that they bought to wear to church, to receive candy, and to have picnics and other things. As Christians, today is a day of hope and assurance for the people of the one, true and living God. This day also represents victory in Jesus over sin, the world, Satan, death, and eventually the grave
(1 Corinthians 15:57).
In the text, Mary Magdalene, Peter, and John came to the tomb to examine it. They had questions about Jesus. God provided answers by using the empty tomb. The tomb provided evidence that Jesus rose because the stone was rolled away, people could see what He promised, the grave clothes remained, the folded napkin, and angelic witnesses appeared. The napkin is significant because napkins were used at a meal. The napkin was placed at a meal to show the person intentions. If the person crumpled up the napkin and threw it on the plate, that meant they were returning to the table. If the napkin was folded and placed beside the plate, that meant the person was going away from the table, but coming back to finish the meal. Jesus’s folded napkin declared he had finished part of his work, but not all of his work. Jesus still had work to do! Mary saw Jesus in the tomb. Jesus rose just like He said He would. He is alive and well! Millions in the church who have never seen the holes in his hands, feet, and side believe the testimony of the tomb. Do you believe the testimony of the tomb?

Scripture- Mark 10:32-34
Message- Jesus Went Before Them
Jesus and the 12 disciples were on their way to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover feast. This would be Jesus‘s last time to travel to Jerusalem. Jesus knew he would be betrayed, arrested, trial by the Sanhedrin Council and crucified on Calvary. The Jewish religious leaders hated Jesus because of his miracles(John 11:53-57) and claims that he was the Son of God. The disciples believed Jesus shouldn’t have gone to Jerusalem. They were puzzled, amazed, and astonished at Jesus’s mindset. Jesus’s mind
couldn’t be changed. Jesus was focus on carrying out God‘s plan(Matthew 1:21, John 1:12, John 6:37). Even though they hadn’t signed up to be put to death, the disciples followed Jesus. Jesus commissions the disciples and us to teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost(Matthew 28:19).
Jesus going before the disciples gave them comfort. Jesus always leads his people down the right pathway(Psalms 23). Jesus revealed the future to them because he was and he is God. He told them what would happen to him(betrayed for 30 pieces of silver, spit on, mocked, going before Pontus Pilate, crucified on Calvary). The disciples thought Jesus’s promises would die with him. Jesus died, buried, and rose on the third day with all power in his hand. Jesus is still going before us!
