CHRISTIAN LIFE BIBLE FELLOWSHIP INTERNATIONAL
FEBRUARY 2025 DAILY REFRESH

SUNDAY 09-02-2025; GENESIS 7:1-16
ARE YOU SURE ?

“And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation”

If you are yet to be in the number, what are you waiting for? Judgment is near and only those people who are righteous will be spared. In our text, God reveals His holy nature that is averse to impenitent sinners. Deluge was to cover the earth and its inhabitants with one place of refuge – the Ark prepared by God-appointed man.

Worthy of consideration in this text, is God’s directive to Noah to take seven pairs of each of the animals considered clean into the Ark, while allowing just a pair of those that were not clean to enter. The sense in that careful selection is to ensure that unclean animals do not dominate the earth after the great rain. If God could be so meticulous with animals, He therefore, cannot tolerate the uncleanness of human beings. Allowing the unclean animals to go into the Ark does not suggest however, that God was not capable of destroying all of them and creating new sets; but God is a God of orderliness. One important emphasis on the preservation of those that were in the Ark while the flood lasted is the fact that God shut them in the Ark; thus, those who would be preserved were sealed by the Lord.

Those who were destroyed were shut out by the Lord. Those who delude themselves with the thought that they can escape God’s punishment by luck or error of selection will be disappointed. The time to make the decision is now. The most important thing is for us to strive to be in the number that will be found faithful to escape coming judgment of all sinners. You should be in the Ark of safety at last.
It is a costly assumption to think you are in the Kingdom when you are not.

PRAYER POINTS

Father, let Your glory shine upon my life, in the name of Jesus.

Spirit of the living God, overshadow my life by Your fire and power, and put all my enemies to flight, in the name of Jesus.

Anointing to pursue my pursuers, fall upon me now, in the name of Jesus.

The fire that fell at Pentecost, overshadow me now, in the name.

Powers gathered to cut off the wings of my eagles, scatter unto desolation in the name of Jesus.

I go, from strength to strength and from glory to glory, by the power in the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

SCRIPTURE: EZEKIEL 17:11-24

TOPIC: "DON'T FORSAKE GOD"

"But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and much people. Shall he prosper? Shall he escape that doeth such things? or Shall he break the covenant, and be delivered?”

Israel was a nation saved by God and separated from other nations as God’s own people, but they moved away like Stalin from this arrangement and became a nation sold to idolatry and sin. From the passage under consideration, they now faced a forced exile to Babylon as a result of their iniquities. Ezekiel prophesied that their attempt to rebel against the king of Babylon, after reaching a covenant to serve him as a conquered territory, will fail. Israel’s king as well as the members of the royal family, and all the important men in society were exiled to Babylon; leaving only the poor in the land to live in their cities under an appointed regent.

Rebellion became so common in Israel’s history that they could no longer be trusted to keep to any covenant or agreement. They rebelled against God’s laws and all his appointed ministers, prophets, and priests.

The purpose for studying the story of Israel’s rebellion is for us to learn and avoid their mistakes. We must abide under God’s control and scrutiny if we must bear fruit and prosper in life. The way of transgressors is hard and those who rebel against God cannot make it to heaven.
Forsaking God means accepting the devil.

PRAYER POINTS:

Oh Lord, help me and make me strong again. Help Your church and make it strong again. Help my family and home, and make it strong again, in Jesus name. Amen.

Oh Lord my God, shine Your light on me, let Your glory be seen, and revealed through me that people everywhere will come to know You, in Jesus name. Amen.

Oh Lord, fill me again with new wine, and fresh oil that Your name may be glorified on earth through me, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

SCRIPTURE: ISAIAH 2:10-22

TOPIC: "DANGER OF ARROGANCE"

"And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.” –

The human heart is a very deep reservoir of several ideas, thoughts and actions. When the heart overvalues the man, it pushes him to over estimate who he is and what he can do. No man wishes to put himself down except if he suffers inferiority complex.

In fact, the Bible talks about every man proclaiming his own good. So, naturally, there is tendency in every man to have some elements of pride.

Our passage for meditation today, however, takes a critical look at pride that makes a man to disregard, dishonour and disobey God’s commandments as set out in the Scriptures. The picture we have in this narration captures an individual or a group of people, a nation, who deliberately decides to toe the path of haughtiness and pride, that over estimate their worth, and thus downplay the place of the divine in their affairs.

But God will be God. He will not share His glory with any man nor tolerate anyone to “think of himself more highly than he ought to think”. Pride is a very grave and condemnable sin before God. It was the sin that made Lucifer to lose his place in His presence (Isaiah 14:12-15). There are several passages of the Scripture that warn us of the danger of pride. We also have several examples of people who lost God’s favour, their place in His programme, their opportunities in life as well as their lives, because they became proud after God had blessed or favoured them.

What is the state of your heart? Do you often consider yourself as being more important than other people? How do you treat those who are not as privileged as you are? Remember, pride goes before a fall. Be humble.
Don’t wait for God to humble you!

PRAYER POINTS:

Oh Lord, arise in your power and freed me from the prison house of wickedness, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Oh Lord, arise and help me and restore my family, life, work in Jesus name. Amen.

Oh Lord, arise big in me and stand up against the enemies of my soul, in Jesus name. Amen.

Oh Lord my Father, arise big in me, and defend Your cause and defend Your inheritance, in Jesus name. Amen.

Oh Holy Spirit, Breath of Life, blow on my soul, fill my heart with fire so the world can come see the fire burning, in Jesus name. Amen.

Oh Lord my Father, cause every dead thing in my family to live again by the power of Your resurrection, in Jesus name. Amen.

SCRIPTURE: 1 SAMUEL 3:11-21

TOPIC: "TRAIN YOUR CHILD"

“For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.”

There is an adage that says, “the child that we refuse to build up (train) will end up selling off (squander) the house that we built.”
This underscores the significance of training children to prepare them to be responsible adults in the future.

This was what Eli failed to do. His children abhorred the offering of the Lord. They forced those who came to Shiloh to offer sacrifice unto God to give them the meat that was meant for the sacrifice, and took as much as they wanted. God counted their action as a desecration of His sacrifice. They did all this in the name of their father, the priest. And, since Eli failed to take concrete actions to stop them, God held him accountable for his children’s sins.

The world is full of wayward children today. Youths are active participants in vices like drug addiction, cultism, kidnapping, r**e, fraud, armed robbery, etc. Sadly, many parents fail to check their children against these vices. For a just, peaceful, equitable and prosperous society, parents have a great role to play. They must train up their children in the way of the Lord so that “when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).

Men of God in particular must take all necessary steps to train their children in the way of the Lord, so that the name of the Lord will not be reproached through their families. According to Scriptures, the man of God must be one that “ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity” (1 Timothy 3:4).
Who is your child? A son of Belial, or a son of God?
A word is enough for the wise.

PRAYER POINTS:

BLOOD of Jesus, speak destruction against every evil prophecy concerning my children.

You weapon of darkness targeted against the destiny of my children, die by fire, in Jesus name. Amen.

Father Lord, connect my children with those that matter to their upliftment, in Jesus name. Amen.

God, any evil power that wants to use my children as a source of pain or sorrow to me, Lord God, destroy them by fire, in Jesus name. Amen.

Every spirit of stubbornness upon the life of my children, come out and die, in Jesus name. Amen.

That rebellious spirit in the life of my kids, come out and die, in Jesus name. Amen.

God, disgrace the enemies of progress/success of my children.

You spirit of retardation in the life of my children, die by FIRE, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

SCRIPTURE: 1 SAMUEL 1:1-13

TOPIC:"DON'T GIVE UP!"

"And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore”

Perseverance pays. God knows where we are hurting, and He is always moved by our tears of sorrow as a compassionate Father. The story of Hannah is a classic example of God’s faithfulness to those who trust Him. Although it seemed her journey to Shiloh yearly yielded no dividend, she continued. She was always part of the worshippers, though with a heavy heart. Only God knew how much she must have cried for the blessing of the womb.

Each time she went to Shiloh, she had one special request – that God should touch her womb. To make matters worse, Peninnah, her husband’s second wife, was always in the habit of deriding and reminding her of her barren status. In spite of this, Hannah persevered because she knew only God could change her situation.

Her life challenges us not to lose faith in times of adversity. A songwriter wrote, “It’s always darkest before the dawn… “It is always at a point when it seems all hope is lost, that miracles usually take place. Moreover, as believers, we must not join issues with those who employ offensive words against us based on our present status.

Instead, our prayers should always be channeled to the Lord. Some have had to employ criticism against men of God, while others have embraced blasphemy to show their level of frustration over some challenges in their lives. These actions are wrong. Prayer changes things, and God is waiting for us to show a little more commitment to Him. He has promised to bless us, and change our night into day if we call upon Him.
Faith will win the victory everyday.

PRAYER POINTS:

Pray that His huge grace, wisdom, and strength cover you today. And that, in Him, we will find freedom from worry as we let go of the stress that clings too tightly, the pressing needs of tomorrow, and struggles we battle today; so that we can fully embrace His gift of forgiveness and love, in Jesus name. Amen.

TOPIC: "FREE GIVING"

“And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto the LORD thy God with a tribute of a freewill offering of thine hand, which thou shalt give unto the LORD thy God, according as the LORD thy God hath blessed thee.”

In commemoration of the deliverance from Egyptian bo***ge, the ordinance of Passover was instituted and was to be observed by Israel in the month of Abib. The ceremony was to be for seven days of eating unleavened bread with no left-over of flesh, and to be observed at the place specifically chosen by the Lord. Israel was also to observe the feast of the weeks seven; weeks 8 from the harvest of corn. At this feast, they were to give a tribute of freewill offering to the Lord according as He had blessed them.

God is still interested in our giving, especially for the furtherance of the gospel and the expansion of His kingdom on earth. Our attitude in giving is also very important. The greatest of our offering does not consist in the value of the money, but the sincerity and sacrifice that goes with it. Giving should be done with a cheerful and willing heart, not by compulsion.

As believers, we are to give our resources, time and talents with a clear motive and right attitude to the Lord. Our giving should also be in proportion to our earnings, and according as the Lord has blessed us, just like the billionaire givers.
Cheerful giving attracts God’s abundant blessings.

PRAYER POINTS:

Every enchantment and invocation of fear being made against me, I neutralize you, and I command you to fail, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Every confederacy of the enemies in my home, with the enemies outside, shall not stand, in the name o f Jesus. Amen.

All arrangements of the devil concerning my home shall not stand; neither shall they come to pass, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

I destroy all efforts of the enemy to frustrate my work, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

I nullify every writing, agreement or covenant against my work, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

SCRIPTURE: EZEKIEL 16:53-63

TOPIC: "HIS WORD NEVER CHANGE"

“Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant”

One inescapable truth about humans is their inability to always keep their word or fulfil their promises. Man lacks the capacity to honour his word every time regardless of his good intentions and noble desires. This is because man is limited, but the Almighty God is not so. He is faithful and always true to His word and promises.

God promised the descendants of Abraham the Promised Land, and with a stretched-forth hand, brought them out of Egypt and took them to Canaan. He required them to obey His commandments, and not to be like the heathen nations. Israel rebelled and committed abominations, idolatry and whoredom like heathen nations.

God sentenced them to suffer the consequences of their lewdness, and abominations because they broke the covenant. Nevertheless, the Lord will remember His covenant with Israel, and establish a better and everlasting covenant.

The measure of God’s amazing faithfulness is that He is absolutely reliable and dependable. Events have shown time and again that God and His words are eternally constant. Time does not change Him, nor does His words become less relevant or obsolete. According to His promise, salvation and holy living have been made available to all who will believe.

The merciful God is ever ready to forgive the repentant sinner who genuinely comes to Him. He does not bear His anger forever, He forgives and forgets. Israel repeatedly failed Him; yet, whenever they realised and sincerely asked for pardon, they were forgiven. Trust God for your salvation, sustained sanctification and holy living. When everything and everyone else fail you, God will not. He is a covenant Keeper and His word will not be unaccomplished in your life.
Time does not change God or His word.

PRAYER POINTS:

I call forth the wisdom, discernment, and sensitivity to know what to do, when to do it, how to do it, and who to do it with, in Jesus name. Amen.

I receive grace to know when to speak, and when to be quiet. Let my lips speak the right words always, in Jesus name. Amen.

Father, open my ears to hear what Your spirit is saying, and give me visual acuity to see what You are showing me in the spirit, in Jesus name. Amen.

Thank You Lord for going before me, make every rugged path smooth, and every crooked place straight, in Jesus Name. Amen.

TOPIC: "GIVING, THE KEY TO BLESSINGS"

"Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto”

The olive tree is small, thorny with twisted branches. When cultivated and nurtured, it sheds its thorns and reaches a height of twenty to thirty feet, and is capable of producing fruits for three hundred to five hundred years. Giving to generations after generations. What blessedness!

Our passage today is about the sabbatical year of release. At the end of every seven years, every creditor forgives debts owed, and the debtor is released, particularly an Israelite-debtor. This commandment was given by the Lord for Israel to be blessed as promised. The commandment was to be done cheerfully so that the Lord would bless His people in all their works and engagements.

Many today go from pillar to post in search of “overflowing blessings”. Prosperity comes to those who obey the word of the Lord, and give cheerfully to others.

There are many around us who are unable to meet basic needs, yet we go about unconcerned. Some believers even complain that they have given enough, and should not be the only ones who always give. The scripture says, “…for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto” (verse 10).

Believers are commanded to show kindness even to strangers. We should show love and care for the servants of God, under whose ministry we receive spiritual nourishment. We are to render sacrificial service to the household of faith, and give to those in need. “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” God will return same to us in good and abundant measures.
Sacrificial and cheerful giving attracts God’s blessings.

PRAYER POINTS:

Lord, may we sow generously into our fellowship without reluctance or compulsion. Make all grace abound, so we have all we need for every good work in Jesus name. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I pray for all the non-believers so that you may show them the right path, and protect them from their ignorance, in Jesus name. Amen.

I beseech against all the negativity that might plague our fellowship family: against criticism, gossip, envy and other human faults, in Jesus name. Amen.

I pray for my fellow believers to be happy and healthy, and so that they are strong to survive any test of their faith, in Jesus name. Amen.

I give thanks to the Lord for our fellowship, and for my fellow Christians. Lord, may You help us to remain united in Your house, and praise You in unison, in Jesus name. Amen.

SCRIPTURE: EZEKIEL 16:35-43
TOPIC: "COMPENSATION DAY"

“Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast fretted me in all these things; behold, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thine head, saith the Lord GOD: and thou shalt not commit this lewdness above all thine abominations”

One of the most remarkable things about God is that He loves with the same fervour with which He judges. He has no preference or favourites. God is not a respecter of persons, no matter how highly placed or well-favoured. When He sees sin either in a heathen or in a backslidden Christian, He punishes it equally.

Our text was a solemn message delivered by Prophet Ezekiel to Jerusalem. God had taken Jerusalem as a bride (Isaiah 54:5), but she went into adultery with strangers. She gave gifts to her lovers and hired them for whoredom. She used the blood of her children for idolatry, and abominations. Therefore, the Lord decided to judge her as women that break wedlock are judged. She received a recompense for her whoredom, and abominations with burning fire and God’s fury.

It is indeed a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God who is a consuming fire. He will judge sin wherever it is found; whether in the unbelieving heathens or in the compromising and backslidden believers. In fact, when a believer, espoused to God like Jerusalem, wilfully goes into sin, he incurs greater wrath than those who do not know God.

Some people erroneously think that God is slack in bringing punishment to evil doers. He is only long-suffering and patient, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. A day of recompense will come upon the world as it was for Jerusalem.

We do not need to wait until the cup of evil, corruption and sin gets full, and the judgment of God becomes unavoidable.
It's beneficial if you would avoid God’s impending wrath, repent from sin, and totally separate from all ungodly conducts.
God’s recompense will not be pleasant to sinners.

PRAYER POINTS:

Dear Father in Heaven, help me learn to cast my cares on You, as I learn what it means to rest and trust in You, In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Heavenly Father, help me to stop trying to outrun my pain, and rather run with endurance the race You have set before me, in Jesus name. Amen.

Heavenly Father, give me a measure of Your love today; give me the strength to endure any trial, in Jesus name. Amen.

TOPIC: "YOU ARE PECULIAR"

"For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth”

According to a story, the pastor of a church got on the trolley Monday morning to get to work. He paid his fare and the trolley driver gave him too much above his change. The pastor sat down and fumbled with the change; he looked it over and counted it eight or ten times. He realised he was tight that week and this was just what he would need for at least a lunch. He wrestled with himself all the way. And finally, he came to the stop and got up, walked up to the trolley driver and said, “Here, you gave me too much change. You made a mistake.” The driver said, “No, it was no mistake. You see, I was in your church last night when you spoke on honesty and I thought I would put you to the test.”

Our text reveals God’s choice of Israel as His children and gave specific commandments. They were not to put marks on their bodies; not even for the dead. They were not to eat any abominable thing, unclean animals as specified, whether on land or in the seas; nor anything that dies of itself. Why? Israel was chosen to be a peculiar people above all the nations that are upon the earth.

Believers are Israel of God today; chosen to be peculiar and secured in Christ. We are chosen not because of our works, but by His grace. As peculiar people, we are partakers of God’s nature of holiness and righteousness.

The believer who is peculiar is honest and direct in dealings with others. He is different, separated and uncorrupted. God’s grace and abiding presence is sufficient to make you peculiar. Dare to be peculiar! Be a peculiar Christian.

PRAYER POINTS:

Every closed door that the enemy has closed against me in the past years will open by fire this day, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

I command the assignment of demonic agents in my life this day to fail woefully, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

SCRIPTURE: 2 CHRONICLES 18:1-12

TOPIC: "DON'T MAKE YOURSELF ENEMY OF GOD"

"Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, and joined affinity with Ahab.”

We are often confronted with choices in life which will eventually determine our destiny. The Almighty God, in His wisdom, could have decided the course of life for every man, but He has given everyone a free will to make choices of his own. He always guides so that we could make a wiser choice.

In today’s passage, Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, chose to be friendly with the wicked King Ahab. He left his kingdom to visit Samaria, and was convinced to assist Ahab in a battle at Ramoth-gilead. As a godly king, he sought God’s consent through Prophet Micaiah whether or not to embark on the journey. Ahab was a rebellious king. He disliked the true prophet because he hated the truth, and lived in total disobedience to God. He was evil and disobedient; yet, Jehoshaphat, the righteous king, made him his close friend.

Like Jehoshaphat, many believers have gone into unnecessary friendship, and alliance with the world. They allow themselves to be negatively influenced through all kinds of social interactions. They even go into marriages and business partnership with them. But the Lord warns: “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”

God hates affinity with the world. “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God” (James 4:4). These are not just on the losing side, but their loss is both spiritual and eternal. The friendship of the world at its best is vanity. Will you now make yourself an enemy of God because of vanity? You cannot afford to be His enemy. Return to the Lord now without further delay!
You cannot afford to be God’s enemy because of vanity.

PRAYER POINTS:

I bind every spirit, contrary to the spirit of God, preventing me from enjoying my children, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

I bind every spirit that's blinding my children minds, from receiving the glorious light of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Let all spirits of stubbornness, pride, and disrespect for parents flee from my children lives, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Father, destroy everything in my children preventing them from doing Your will, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Every curse, evil covenant, and all inherited problems passed down to my children, be canceled, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Mention your children names one by one, and tell the Lord what you want them to become, in Jesus name. Amen.
