As our time at Centerpoint Church Kent Island comes to a close this weekend, I reminisce of all the lives that were connected to God, the relationships built, souls saved, chains broken, and community impacted in a positive way. Our church was planted a decade ago on the island to bring people with all types of backgrounds and different stages of faith together in a place to worship and grow. Over the years, dozens of new believers were baptized while giving others a path to grow their faith. Our church service took place in a school, brewery, an outdoor stage like a drive-in next to Dunkin’ Donuts, under a tent, in a barn, and in the heart of the island at the community center! I feel that we have never been limited on where to have church because our mission was to meet people where they were and offer them the hope that Jesus gives to all of us!
While reflecting on our past, I was reminded of Zechariah’s encouragement to the Jews when their temple was destroyed. While we are transitioning to a new approach to ministry, that does not mean our mission to provide a community where believers can pursue Christ will change. Zechariah 2:1-5 highlights that a church does not need physical walls or a building to exist. We don’t need to worry about having a space to worship, God promises to provide and protect those fulfilling His plans. Centerpoint will not be limited on where we can physically go or by the means to connect people to God. God will light those paths where He wants and needs us to be. Remember the words of Paul to the Ephesians and Corinthians, that we are the body of Christ and His church! Take a moment to reflect on your time at Centerpoint KI and be encouraged on where God takes us next!
