The First Grapevine Methodist Church's June Community Table Meal was a memorable one to say the least. Approximately 60* folks braved the Noah-esque rain storm and gathered in the FLC to enjoy a delicious Breakfast for Dinner feast. The room was full of wonderful aromas, laughter, and discussion....and then the power went out and left the tables in a bit of darkness. But that only deterred the celebrations for a moment. Soon eyes adjusted, phone lights were illuminated, and the fun and food continued. Thanks to all who came and especially to all who served and volunteered. Our next meal is the SECOND Tuesday of the month, July 14.

It's the first Tuesday of the month, which means it is COMMUNITY TABLE NIGHT at First Grapevine Methodist Church. The summer heat has landed with a vengeance, so don't heat up your house cooking tonight, come to the Family Life Center at 6 PM and enjoy some "Breakfast for Dinner," wonderful fellowship, and connecting with our community neighbors. Feel free to come and grab some food to go, but you miss ALL THE FUN if you don't hang around and dine in with us. Plus, the AC in the FLC is working great! See you tonight and please share this event with your friends.

The First Grapevine Methodist Church Family Life Center was full of people, smiles, discussions, laughter, fellowship, and good food following our 11 AM services today (Sunday, May 31) during our Spring All-Church Celebration and Meeting. As part of the time together, several of the church's ministries and projects were celebrated including a positive update on our Endowment Fund, a report from the Trustees on several of the exciting (and much needed) enhancements to our church campus and building that have recently been completed or are underway, our Q1 Financial report and an update on the Jubilee Campaign (see info graphics in photos below), some exciting staffing updates from the SPRC and Pastor Zach that have been previously shared, and the announcement of a $400,000 match challenge for the Jubilee Campaign in which a family in the church has pledge to match any pledges to the campaign that come in through the end of the year up to $400K! And the highlight of the announcements was the prestigious Wesley Award given to Miriam Ward for the many, many ways that she serves our church. Thanks to all who were able to attend, and to all you who couldn't make it, please know that you were missed.

Just a reminder that we have a special treat in store for your ears during our 8:30 and 11 AM Traditional services tomorrow (Sunday, May 31). Percussionist Koby Chiou will be accompanying the choir on the cajón and has prepared a special marimba solo just for these services! Koby is a renowned and in-demand percussionist who also currently serves as the Director of Percussion Studies at Lewisville High School. You will not want to miss this (and of course, the message, the fellowship, and everything else that makes First Grapevine home). So, make your plans to be with us at 8:30 and/or 11 AM in the Sanctuary on May 31.

Today (Friday, May 29) is the last full day in country for our Costa Rica Mission Team. The team has been busy helping on the construction of the Methodist Children's Home's "Third House," pouring concrete, shoveling gravel, laying rebar, and all other construction related duties. They've also had a bit of fun playing and worshipping with the kids and staff of MCH during their Vacation Bible Camp! As promised earlier in the week, here are a few more photos from their adventures. Please continue to keep the team in your prayers for a successful final working day and then for their travel home on Saturday.

There are only three more days to support our Blankets of Hope Fundraiser and help the team share God's love with the residents of Valley Hope Rehabilitation Center in Grapevine. For more than 20 years a dedicated group of volunteers has lovingly crafted, prayed over, and delivered more than 3,000 blankets to Valley Hope residents, and they are counting on your support to help keep this vital ministry going for the next 20 years. The materials for each blanket cost $20, and the team has a goal of distributing at least 375 blankets in 2026. Please consider sponsoring a blanket or two (or 20!). Contributions can be made at Firstgrapevine.org/give (select Local Missions from the dropdown and, in the Notes field, type “Blankets of Hope”), or by dropping off a check with “Blankets of Hope” in the memo line at the church office (422 Church St.) or in the offering plate. Sunday, May 31 is the last day for this fundraising campaign. Let's help the team that so selflessly helps others reach their goal!

The First Grapevine Methodist mission team in Costa Rica squeezed a couple of moments out of their busy schedule to upload a few photos from their trip so far. Yesterday (Sunday, 5/25) was their first full day on the job site. Pastor Zach reports that the team focused on pouring concrete to be used to help construct a section of the Home No. 3 at the Methodist Children's home. "It took six loads of concrete mix, which needed 240 buckets of sand and rock and filled 96 wheelbarrows of concrete that was filled 768 pouring buckets." That's a lot of concrete! We hope the evening ice cream treat, opportunities to play with the children at the home, and time spent with members of the community will help assuage the sore muscles to come! Please keep the team firmly in your prayers throughout this week. We hope to share more photos from the trip later this week.

The globe is on the altar at First Grapevine Methodist Church, and that means that we have members of our congregation out somewhere in the world doing mission work and being the hands and feet of Christ. This time, it is our Costa Rica team, who flew out today. Please keep the team firmly in your prayers this week as they work to help build House No. 3 at the Methodist Children's Home. We'll share more pictures this week (assuming the team has time to snap any, isn't too tired to hit send, and/or the internet is flowing well between here and there.)
